I really hope that they don’t put the DMR in Halo 5(but they will anyway)
The reason why everyone and their grandmas use it is because as you said, the game basically does the work for them. Although I did hear a rumor that they’re making the BR a 4 shot again but they’re nerfing the range. I swear with 343 its like they take take one step forward and two steps backwards
> This is whats wrong with people, too freaking lazy, sure the dmr is OP at everything but if you change your strategy then you can use other weapons
>
> Theres SOOO many guns in this game and that was supposed to bring variety but everyone wants to use just 1.
>
> My top weapon is proudly the AR, ive worked hard and have a feeling of self accomplishment, dmr users have no say in the matter, the game hands them kills.
>
> Bah!
That’s your prerogative if that’s what makes you feel better. I don’t see how it’s fun to limit yourself to just up close battles all the time though.
There are lots of weapons in the game but only so many in loadouts. I vary it a bit, the BR is king on Haven and adrift for example. My favorite loadout is the DMR and AR with firepower and a jetpack, and dexterity.
I’d say it’s more like they took 1 step forward and 2 steps back with the release of the game. Now with the past and upcoming fixes I think they will be even.
I’m pretty sure bullet magnetism is pretty bad on every gun… I can’t believe how some sr15 with a battle rifle can kill me cross map, then I release hey bullet magnetism. Way to equal the playing field 343! Who needs skill to play halo right?
I dont care, eat my DMR bullets with your magnet head and be glad i dont -Yoink!- you BR fanboys. You primitive screw heads, listen up - this is my Boom Stick
Um, they’ve done the same tests for Halo: CE, particularly on PC. Much to the annoyance of the PC players.
-Go into Forge.
-Use a BR, aim at the enemy’s abdominal area.
-Spam the BR, don’t control the recoil.
-Get headshots.
Im curious with all the love for the DMR and hate for it as well do you think ppl would use it if it worked like the DMR worked in Reach? Bloom and randomness? would you use a H4 BR or Reach DMR?
> Im curious with all the love for the DMR and hate for it as well do you think ppl would use it if it worked like the DMR worked in Reach? Bloom and randomness? would you use a H4 BR or Reach DMR?
Light Rifle. I prefer consistency.
> Dude it doesn’t matter if the dmr has ridiculous aim assist. You are at a severe disadvantage if you don’t use it. If they nerf it, fine. But no matter what you say to try and discourage its use it is the best loadout weapon and I’m not not going to use the best loadout weapon.
>
> I’m all for any nerf they make to it. Doesn’t mean I’m going to stop using it in the meantime and lose most battles using something weaker.
>
> I completely agree though the game has way too much aim assist. Stop alienating Halo’s community just because your trying to be more accessible to the noobs and COD players. I hate that word now. Wheelchair = accessible. YUCK.
>
> Oh, and you have no respect for 99% of the games users then. Pretty ignorant. After all 343 put the weapon in the game. It’s a viable weapon to use and it’s not anyones fault but the developers for making things so unbalanced.
Essentially this. The reason so many people use it is because you’re at a severe disadvantage if you don’t. That doesn’t mean everybody who uses it likes how overpowered it is.
> Im curious with all the love for the DMR and hate for it as well do you think ppl would use it if it worked like the DMR worked in Reach? Bloom and randomness? would you use a H4 BR or Reach DMR?
It is overtly used because it is the most efficient weapon to kill enemies with.
It is that simple.
*facepalm
in an annoyed tone It’s not the DMR that has an AA problem. The whole game has huge aim assist on all the weapons, not just the DMR.
Bullet magnetism is also a big problem. I’ve shot people in the back with a sniper sometimes, while they were fully shielded, and gotten an instant kill.
Tested this and yes, this is a little ridiculous. Though they can’t beat me in CQC when I got my Automatics still!
This is what halo 4 has made this community. No one cares about DMR vs any other gun users. One weapon is objectively better and so it is widely used. The problem? There is none.
Maybe it’s not good for the sandbox but the halo I have known for 11 years has had a single precision weapon that is universally powerful. That so happens to be the DMR.
I love people who are to “pro” to use the DMR. They raise my KD.
> I love people who are to “pro” to use the DMR. They raise my KD.
One, nobody cares about KD. Two, we don’t feel too pro to use the DMR, we use soething else because we don’ want to be CHEAP!
> All the precision weapons have the same aim assist and magnetism except for the Carbine which has more magnetism. The DMR is just an overall better weapon than the others, that’s going to change though with the proposed updates.
Yeah, because the LightRifle is JUST as easy to use as the DMR. That’s why everyone uses it in BTB. /sarcasm

I prefer using the BR on certain maps, but on other maps you’re a fool if you don’t use the DMR. Saying it’s cheap, that doesn’t make sense. In Halo 3 it wasn’t considered cheap if you picked up the BR and completely dominated with it. Why the double standard for the DMR in Halo 4?

LOL. Using the best weapon in the game is not cheap. I feel as if you put youself at a disadvantage for not using it. I use nothing but the DMR every map every game.
Console shooters NEED magnestism because they aren’t as precise as PC shooters with people using a mouse/keyboard.
Now I am not saying the H4 magnetism isn’t ridiculously high because it is but have you guys ever tried betraying someone on your team?
Do you see how freakin hard it is to kill him? There isn’t magnetism on teammates and it would just be atrocious if that’s how the game was when shooting enemies.
