Back when Halo 4 came out I was a total die hard. I got to SR 130 in like March and loved playing the game. However, I got sick of it after awhile because there was no motivation to earn points since I had reached mastery. So I popped in Halo Reach and tried to get to inheritor like the good ol’ days. And for a few months Reach was fun and brought back good memories. When Reach got boring I thought about Halo 4. However I was reluctant to go back to Halo 4:
bad lagging times
Spartan Ops got boring quick
lack of new and interesting playlists
took too long to get kills (almost 6-8 shots with dmr and br)
leveled up too quickly
However I thought I would give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. Since I started playing like two weeks ago the game seems transformed. New playlists like ricochet and big team battle were great additions, less lagging and faster load times, more skilled players that know what they are doing, and faster killing (which I’ve known has been around for awhile). After being defiantly attached to Halo Reach, Halo 4 has made a comeback in my books. Though Spartan Ops remains repetitive and boring, the multiplayer seems much more advanced and faced paced. Are there changes I want for the game: heck yeah! But I’ve noticed improvements that make me excited for Halo 5
Just to tell you, the champions bundle (2 Maps, 4 unique armour sets, 1 steampunked skin for every weapon) doesn’t work in SPops. Just thought I should let you know in-case you decide to buy it.
Most of the changes 343 has made are for the better. Have you tried Team slayer yet? It has 3 variants in the playlist now.
Halo 4 just didn’t keep my interest like previous Halos. I enjoy Halo 4 and still play it on a weekly basis but I still find myself going back to older Halos (3 and Reach) and find myself enjoying those Halos more.
I’ve been playing reach too. I like how you can find games fast. Halo 4 matchmaking would be sweet if we had a search filter on it. Tired of getting owned from mexico and Brazil hosts! I can handle ordinance drops etc, but the lag, ugh…
I still like to stick to playlists like BTB, CTF, SWAT, Flood, and Ricochet. I try to stay away from infinity game types–I was never a fan of awarding random ordinance. I also loved playing BTB on Halo Reach, and the BTB on Halo 4 is fun too, but too many OP vehicles (tank, mantis, wraith, etc, etc) makes it difficult to maneuver solo. I remember once I played a game of slayer and had 20 deaths–only two of which were actually from the starting weapons. Other than that I love their multiplayer.
And deluca34 I actually didnt have a hard time getting back to playing Halo 4. My first game back I went 20-2!! I actually think Halo Reach was a good preparatory tool because Halo 4 doesn’t have bloom or sprint. In all honesty the speed wasn’t a huge deal but I was glad to finally have sprint back.

Umm no, BTB in Halo 4 is a joke because of the possibility of spawning with Plasma Pistol + Plasma grenade combos, making vehicles useless, plus vehicles in H4 seem made out of paper as they can get destroyed easily.
I enjoy Reach much more at least there BTB actually allows you to play with vehicles and people need to work as a TEAM to take them down as they are quite powerful, on Halo 4 its a matter of PP + Grenade and done, new vehicle rinse and repeat.
Yes good point made for a single vehicle but when there two tanks, two banshees, a million warthogs, a million ghosts, etc, etc it gets difficult to plasma a vehicle and stick it twice (and coordinating a team in Halo 4 is a joke lol). I get your point–the pp and plasma grenades are almost in all of my loadouts but Halo 4 BTB is a little OP, never mind the creation of the mantis. And with the addition of a perk that lets the vehicle operator survive from an explosion the odds are increasingly stacked against you.
We can both agree however Halo Reach BTB is much more fair.

Actually no it is very easy because EVERYONE can spawn with a PP and Plasma nades wich they usually do on BTB in H4 so infantry can obliterate vehicles, and in worst case scenario you blow a vehicle up, you die, you get a new PP and new set of Plasma Nades and go destroy another vehicle, rinse and repeat.
So no BTB in H4 is easy and is a joke, vehicle combat is completely pointless because as soon as you get in one you get everyone on the other team emping you and blowing your vehicle up, also survivor doesnt let the driver survive if the vehicle is stuck with a plasma grenade.
In Halo Reach a plasma pistol was a map pickup weapon wihich meant it was at most 2 players, 1 per team the ones with the possibility of emping vehicles, so if they wasted their shots or died they lost the pp and had to endure getting obliterated by the vehicles also BTB heavies has tons of vehicles in Reach, so yeah BTB is way harder in Reach than on H4.
Also lets not forget personal ordinance and gettng op weapons like the incinerator cannon and the beam rifle that can destroy vehicles without a second thought quite easily, and they can be obtained several times and by several players.
On reach (An example here on Boneyard) you had 2 snipers, 1 rocket and thats it that was your arsenal to try and destroy the vehicles, needles to say that if you died those weapons were lost so you were practically defenseless against the vehicles, as a matter of fact a couple days ago i finished a BTB heavies game 32-2 using vehicles, while on H4 i don’t even bother because you get 4 - 5 kilsl the most before you are empd and blown by plasma nades.

Then your contradicting yourself. What’s better gameplay: 32 kills in a vehicle or 5 kills? Getting 32 kills may be fun for you but it bogs down the gameplay. I disagree with your theory that everyone is good enough and smart enough to use/have pp’s or plasma grenades and have the luck to get rare explosive ordinance to destroy vehicles in Halo 4, but that’s not my point. If Halo Reach has such indestructible vehicles how are they supposed to be fair? In my view, a good mulitplayer game the infantry should be able to use strategy to take down tough opponents. Since many vehicles have huge advantages over infantry, it should be refreshing to take them out once in a while.

I do recall that the Warthog in Reach was often described to have “cardboard armor.” You just used a little teamshooting and hogs and ghosts had to turn tail or be destroyed.
With most vehicles in Halo 4 you’re lucky if you can have a couple encounters with infantry without being immediately disabled and destroyed.
You would’ve hated Halo 3, but that’s a little point about Halo long gone. If you have vehicle superiority on a map due to destroying your opponents vehicles they deserve the disadvantage for letting that advantage slip away.
Its fine–we’ll agree to disagree–but my main point is that Halo 4’s BTB need overhauling–which most of us can agree on.
And you are right I hated Halo 3 vehicles when I played it. Vehicles were unstoppable. However the regular combat between spartans was enjoyable and fair.

In reach with good teammates you can take down vehicles, a sniper rifle can also do the job, but at least vehicles are worth using and you can actually damage the enemy team with them, sure the guys that got killed over and over might not have enjoyed it but they had vehicles of their own wich I destroyed if they weren’t good enough to keep their vehicles alive then they deserve the punishment.
I do agree indestructible vehicles are bad but also paper mache vehicles (Halo 4) combined with bad game mechanics like allowing the dreaded PP + Plasma nade combo to happen are far worse.
When I still played H4 and went on BTB i was never concerned with vehicles because I knew the moment one was close I could just emp and stick it and that way I destroyed several wraiths, scorpions and such without breaking a sweat, even Mantises, makes them so easy to board.
In Reach i know that i have to look for the plasma pistol and use it wisely or go fight for a sniper rifle to try and destroy a vehicle instead of just getting a new set every time i die.
It might be me, but CTF vehicles I don’t mind. When there are large amounts of vehicles I get overwhelmed and people always steal that rocket or sniper from me. Its always an uphill battle for me at least. That’s why I stick to maps like adrift, simplex, solace, dispatch, rather than ragnarok, meltdown, etc.
