We really do need more classic maps.
Don’t kill me yet, let me talk.
Ragnarok is the best remake I’ve played in years. It was a flawlessly done, appropriate remake and it accomplished exactly what all remakes should accomplish:
Accurately recreating the experience and preserving the look and feel of a map.
There are many other games that attempt to craft remakes but fail because of noticable changes to a map’s layout. But 343 has proven that they’re capable of delivering old experiences and still managing to make them feel somewhat fresh again. While Ragnarok looks and plays just like Valhalla, it shares the same issues as the original Valhalla. When matches turn into one-sided battles with a team cornering their opposition into their base can sometileft come frustrating. While I love Valhalla, I don’t think it was the best choice for a map remake.
And yes, “they already announced all of Halo 4’s DLC!”
So why not do something unexpected that will please fans? Bungie accomplished this by releasing Halo 3’s Cold Storage out of the blue and most importantly: Free of charge.
We should have another Cold Storage-esque DLC launch. For example, maybe we can have a single classic map such as Guardian, Lockout, or Sandtrap? It would keep the game alive, people will come back if something 's price tag is $0.00 and it’s guaranteed quality.
I’ve noticed that the Crimson Map Pack purely consists of maps with vehicle-driven gameplay, why not release smaller arena maps to balance it out? We need more maps like Haven.
This game is far too unpopular for a AAA release that only came out about four weeks ago(My sole opinion). Halo 3 had more players online than Halo 4 currently does years after its release. Something’s clearly wrong, and I think a free map or two can remedy it.
