Ive been gone, will there be a final update?

So like I said I havent been on here in ages and last I heard there was one last update but I didnt see anything at E3 about it and nobody is talking about it on here. Have we found out if there will be a last one yet?

Still no word, unfortunately.

It would REALLY be in the game’s best interest, just to minimize the damage, but we simply don’t know…

Truth is, they can’t really fix the game’s biggest problems at this point. We just have to hope they don’t make the same mistakes next time… BTB maps are off the table, new (old missing) game modes… off the table, general design/efficiency-related improvements must occur in H6’s development, can’t go back on them now for H5…

Very “value-inefficient” design and content pool segregation going on in H5, highly questionable time management and resource allocation into the MP development… The limited experiences and recycled content plaguing every individual MP component is sufficient evidence of this alone.

The simple matter of fact here, no further updates will mend these issues in H5… no additional amounts of REQ content will fix the game’s problems. Divided content pools for a divided community equates to a cheapened, less-inspired experience for all players. And that’s the thing… it didn’t have to be this way… more change for the sake of change. Halo’s maps always accounted for the full-range of game modes. Now modes have been categorized and split, and content does not have any cross-benefits across multiple game modes, and rather than developing for all modes, time goes into separate specialized modes and that detracts from the development efforts for the others… there’s only so much time and money that can go into the game and its components.

So now, quality has suffered in every area of the game… half the maps feel close to the same as the others, half were essentially HALF-COMPLETED by the others… you can’t go back on this. Variety was either not planned, or built into this game effectively, or both…

343 really needs to manage their time better next time… look to the efficiency of the design practices in the past, where Halo games were bursting at the seams with variety and value. Where maps provided entirely different themes, gameplay experiences, and visual aesthetics. Where endless game mode options and configurations could be used across the entire map pool. Where DLC still maintained a high level of integrity and quality, in providing new experiences for the player.

No future H5 update(s) will fix this unfortunately… they COULD update playlists with fresh Forge designs, it’d be much more practical this late in H5’s lifecycle and with H6 being high-priority… which is WHY we need to be adamant about these issues while there is still time for H6. It has very little room for failure at this point in time… this is why 343 isn’t planning any reveals in the game’s traditional announcement timeframes/this year’s various gaming expos.

They know that they have to get this one right… and they really need to support the community better in terms of processing feedback and providing quick turnaround. Like the demand for social MM, went unaddressed for a year, the Snipers playlist… a SIMPLE Slayer reconfiguration, on Arena maps… perfectly doable (and requested yet again, like H4) at launch… it gets incorporated a YEAR later… and THEN taken away! After numbers “weren’t satisfactory.” When you launch an incomplete game and suppress community feedback, and the general player-base has grown bored and given up on your game, I wonder why…

As a long-time fan… seeing the series’ successes and failures, it’s NOT rocket science! It’s effective, value-MINDED (and value-streamed), efficient design practices and fan/customer service. Know your product… know your community. Deliver based on quality and expectations…

I agree with all that was said here. I would give more input but everything i could say has already been said in multiple forum posts by so many people including me. But you nailed it with all you just said.

I was hoping at E3 they were going to announce a Halo 3 update or something like that for Halo 5, because I thought there was another one coming. Now I’m not so sure if there even is another one coming.

Nope, no final update for Halo 5 has been announced.

If the game gets released in 2019, I hope there is at least one more update. That’s a good 2 1/2 years left which can be a lifetime in an already stale game.

Update, as in more maps and stuff?

Rumors are still floating around but no concrete proof

I used to think they would.

But the time to say something was at E3 and its been too long since the last update. Whatever stuff they may have had cooking that some people found in forge probably isn’t going to be finished and see the light of day.

My guess is the FPS team is working on Halo 6.

Thats a shame, the game really improved afterthe last few updates. Customs browser is a huge quality of life update for me and its what Ive been playing for hours lately. If they have any more features like that then the game could get better. I cant wait to see the REQ system removed though, it has taken so much joy out of Halo for me

I doubt it. MCC needs updating.

Its been awhile since the last update, I doubt there will be any more updates to this game.

Hope so

Seeing as how much space the game takes up already, I wouldn’t be to upset if we didn’t get one.

I was just about to mention the size of the game, 97.8GB! holy cow! Instead of an update, I want 343 to take the time and explain this and to not do the same with H6, I don’t need it being nearly 200GB!

Right? Like iv actually had to uninstall more than a couple of my games just because of h5. (I only have the 500GB one)
