SWAT has always been an awful game mode - very “un-Halo”. Never understood why SWAT gets the focus it does. Same goes for Fiesta. Makes me wonder… who is making the decisions to highlight certain game modes?

Only thing i dont get is why the name change… tactical slayer… nothing wrong with the old name that everyone recognizes…SWAT!
gonna be honest, i think apex got a way faster challenge adjustment for the better with a way smaller team than 343
which means its 99% on the leadership, no amount of man power can fix this if its being pointed at the wrong thing

My thing is after 4 5 and now infinite, it shows that this company has no idea how to tell a story.
You wanna bring back the forerunners and kill off Cortana in 4, bold, but ok.
You want to hunt chief as a fugitive and make Cortana return and take over the galaxy in 5? Ok
You want the humans to be pretty much wiped out by Cortana and have them somehow survive the crossfire of an atriox v Cortana war? Sounds cool.
But man did we get slided on those stories. An atriox v Cortana war would’ve been like 4 expansions, instead they do everything off screen.
343 needs a Kevin Feige, who knows the material well enough to give a direction. The leadership at 343 are just developers who were just given the development rights to a game. They never earned it.
Leadership needs a changing and start at the top. Bonnie gotta go.

And what is worse!!! You can’t play regular tactical slayer during the event?!? I have a challenge of get battle rifle kills and I can’t even go to regular tactical slayer to get them. 343 -Yoink!- the bed big time this week!!!

No clue what that/this is in reference to but I’ll just have to take your word for it… i will admit i haven’t picked up and played halo in quite some time until infinite but i have been a gamer my whole life… i wont say exactly how old i am but i now play halo mainly with my sons who are 17 and 15 years old… so yeah, seems like a weak reason to change the name but as we know opinions are like stink holes… everyone has them and some stink way more than others lol

I felt no inclination to play at all last week and now Tactical Ops looks like it will be the first event I’ve skipped entirely.

This exactly what I did too! Played one game with manglers and said, nope, no thanks not doing anymore and closed the game… these events are just plain stupid and I loath playing game modes I simply do not enjoy or have fun…. Season 2 is make or break for me with halo after almost 20 years playing the game…

I’m enjoying this event so far. My challenges have been reasonable. I may swap out the triple kill one but we’ll see.
I’m not a fan of manglers as a swat weapon. I really hope they don’t put that into the regular playlist rotation.

I have one killjoy challenge and I only had to get 2. I have multiple ‘kills with BR’ challenges. Hopefully I can get those to appear at the same time so they can stack.
Went through my list of challenges and it looks like the worst ones were back smack ones, which no I’m not going to do those and risk losing my team a win. I think I have 2 or 3 of them total…
I can’t obviously see what the last challenge is for the week.
I had a back smack challenge that took me 3 hours to get. My buddy got one and got it in the first match after it popped. Needless to say, we’re not friends anymore.
This mode would be nice if the constant desynchronization on this buggy game didn’t ruin everything.
The aim is perfectly inconsistent and it feels even more in this mode.
To this must be added the many crashes since the recent update which does not allow you to finish the games.
Hopefully this game will be no longer a beta but a finished and functional product.

I don’t mind the idea of the event but it just seems bizarre when, at a time where a considerable number of players are experiencing desync/network issues, 343 have decided to introduce a time limited event that is based around 1 hit kills which further exposes the network issues the game has.
I’ve got kills where my aim was miles off and I’ve been shot by people straight through walls. If it wasn’t essentially one hit kills these issues would be somewhat masked but because it is then any desync or lag is going to be really obvious and have an even more adverse impact on gameplay.
Either 343 really aren’t thinking this stuff through OR they are doing this deliberately to highlight the issues, maybe so they can get more resources from those in charge to fix these issues.
