The UNSC Infinity a ship seen in Halo 4 concept art. What kind of ship do you think it is? Why and where is it? What kinda of role will it play in Halo 4?

I remember taking that picture and everything at Halo Fest, stood there in amazement (despite Anniversary maps just a few meters away) at the beauty of this new starship. That wall was one of my top five moments of the whole PAX Prime experience. 
Anyways, as for the ship, i’m thinking its a mix between a heavy cruiser like the Marathon-class with the expeditionary landing capabilities of the Charon-class light frigate. More than likely, it could have been designed for long missions in deep space away from the logistical train of the UNSC Navy and out of the reach of colonial bases throughout the galaxy. Considering its status as a “starship technology demonstrator,” this could be an obvious reference to possible scientific breakthroughs or tech sharing between the UEG and Sangheili government, perhaps outfitting the Infinity with energy shielding, faster slipspace drives, or even large-scale energy weapons.
As for my guestimation of her type, its likely that the Infinity has a sizable aviation complement of Pelicans, Sabres, Longswords, and smaller atmospheric aircraft, as well as a battalion of Marines for expeditionary warfare.
It could very well just end up becoming the cover for one of the new Halo books to come out like Primordium’s cover did. The UNSC may not even appear in Halo 4.

Actually it’s the opposite. The book covers are Halo 4 Concept Art. They were made for Halo 4 and used for the books.
All that says to me is that 343 is incredibly lazy in terms of making covers for the Forerunner trilogy. And thatstill doesn’t mean the UNSC Infinity art can’t get plastered to some other Halo book. My other point still stands.

But it raises the question of if there is no UNSC in Halo 4 why would they make that concept art?

Could be just a throwaway concept for all we know. And you do have to admit UNSC Infinity is such a terrible name for a ship. Couldn’t 343 be more creative?

I thought the title was perfectly fine, and a possible hint towards Marathon.

A UNSC Enterprise would be cool.

How do we know its a UNSC ship and how do we even know its name? It could just be a random forerunner ship?

It said so in the description under the picture.
Anyways, I hope it has shields and maybe some plasma weapons. 
If that cover art makes, The UNSC ships have lost some bulk.I wonder what tech advancements they made.

Alright most of us have seen the trailer for the halo 4 concept art video. Anybody thinking what Im thinking

This and your next post just tell me you’re trying to justify reasons for disliking 343i, that you want to be critical of them. The concept art for Halo 4 was used a cover art to show how connected the two stories are.
The name Infinity can be an allusion to the doors it opens for humanity, as a technological demonstrator. Its the perfect name given its role.
