Halo 5 is already the lowest selling game of the series. Without the lack of content and the time it takes between little updates like small things like 1 playlist. I think its too little to late for halo 5 to make a comeback. I hope they fix all the problems everyone has on halo 6 but until then its back to reach and MCC. Super disappointed in the campaign ending, the lack of playlists and depth, the crappy thrown together maps (recurve and guilitin) seriously terrible maps that just have vehicles in it with no reason why they are there… banshees and mantis dont belong on guilitin, and a tank doesnt belong in recurve especially facing the laser spawn.
Halo 5 sold the lowest number of physical copies. I’m not saying it sold a trillion digital copies of the game, but not a single digital copy sold has been accounted for except for the one I can personally vouch for. So we can’t really say that with any level of informed certainty especially considering the amount of digital games being sold today.
If Google is telling me that 25% of most AAA game sales are digital and we factor that in there, then … yeah, that’s still pretty low. lol.
The Banshee was part of Headlong in Halo 2. Guillotine is a remake of that map, so the Banshee ought to be there. Show some respect for Headlong/Guillotine, mister. That map is a classic.
If digital copies were really so high, why don’t they reveal them

… yeah I don’t know where you’re getting that. I said nothing about them being “high”. I just said unaccounted for. I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Headlong was a terrible map in H2 and is still a terrible map in H5. It was the worst BTB map in H2.

Better than Burial Mounds. I hated that map. Then again, I suck at sniping. I was just reminding OP that Guillotine is not a Halo 5 map.
I really liked the campaign, but I agree about the lack of quite a few other things. For me it’s mainly lack of PvE and no Forge yet. I actually took a break from H5 just to do some forging in MCC, since I can’t go too long without Forge in my life. I love Halo 5 like crazy, but it still needs more stuff to return to the series, and hopefully soon.

As always, the low sales don’t surprise me.

if they would change much about the sales in general they would’ve already revealed them, which implies they’re not noteworthy
I give this game till February to bring back Team Doubles, if it is not a permanent playlist by this time, then I will be moving on. I log in to lose games with randoms, and I don’t have the time to form a competitive group of 4. I have 1 person I play with every time, and we have always taken advantage of the competitive Team Doubles playlist.
343i made the game competitive, but they assumed that everyone will have 4 solid team-mates that they enjoy playing with. This is not the case, instead most parties are duo-queing, and you get stuck with randoms who do not communicate, and thus bring down the team.
The gameplay is great so I think this game will have legs. They need to tweak a bunch of things (playlists, disconnects, variety) but because of how good the game feels I think it will have the staying power 4 didn’t.
IF they change the UI to what they were inteded to do (see the other threat), only that would bump the amount of players…

As much as I love doubles. The majority of the maps played terrible for doubles. What really needs to change are the team restrictions. A team of 4 should not be playing a team of two and then two randoms, or even a team of randoms. That may be one of the biggest issues with matchmaking.
I don’t think its due to lack of content, but rather lack of people who own Xbox One’s.
Most people I know have switched to PC, and its really only the hardcore fans that buy consoles anymore. I know if it weren’t for MCC I wouldn’t have bought one, and I only bought it to play HaloCE online. I understand what they mean too, why buy another $400.00 console that doesn’t have a huge game selection yet, when I can keep playing my 360, PS3, or PC? Can’t really argue with it, unless you’re a hardcore fan and bought it to play exclusive games like Halo.
Halo 5 is an awesome game in my opinion, and I think once some big tournaments/Forge happen the game will get more exposure, and hopefully bring more people back.

I would have to disagree. I feel like the game plays entirely too fast to begin with. The maps aren’t huge, but with all the movement and faster time-to-kill it you are almost always left 1 shot in higher divisions to be cleaned up by another enemy thrusting around the corner. I feel like the pace of the game would be similar to Halo 3 in Team Doubles. The dynamic of the map would be played completely different as well.
Older gamers likely stop playing as they get older pretty much all of my friends stopped playing games as they got older or they couldn’t afford to go next gen.
and with sequels a lot of people probably are put off buying a game when they haven’t played the previous games. There are lots of games I never got into that I think look good now but cause I never played the previous games I avoided them.
IT seems to me that 343 took the lazy way to make a lot of the game. It’s still loads of fun but the lack of content is disappointing. I don’t mind that Forge is being released around now, but I wish there was more to do while waiting for Forge.

Rig, Fathom, Regret, Plaza and Pegasus were terrible for Doubles. Truth, Coliseum Eden and Empire, played okay, but just didn’t have that 2s feel. The pace is not the issue, its the maps themselves. Halo:CE is still the king for doubles and Halo 3 was the slowest Halo game out of the series, I never want that to happen again.
Halo has been sitting steady at around 8 out of the top 10 games. It may not have sold as well, but that doesn’t mean its doomed. As long as enough players play to establish a community, thats all that matters

Actually the Banshee was designed into the map, and so were warthogs, however for some reason 343 took out the warthogs and added in the mantis
