It's time to stop (COD IW)

I’ve been watching many videos and people talking about this topic, but I really haven’t seen it in here so… I don’t know if 343i or Microsoft is aware of this (they should since COD is one of their main rivals in FPS) and if they are I’m wondering why they haven’t done anything about it, It’s just so obvious how they’re copy them in their faces, there has to be something that can be done about it.

Maybe they didn’t notice because IW hasn’t sold like at all… not even in the top 50 most played on Live. Now that’s sad when you have MCC beating your population.

If it’s really an issue, MS’s legal team will look into it.

Also, read the following:

  • Pelican: Search dropship in Google Images. Not much variation. - Ring-shaped habitats: Look for Larry Niven’s book, Ringworld. Don’t forget about the Stanford torus. - Mantis: Humanoid piloted mechs/mecha/walkers have been a part of sci-fi since who knows when. Metal Gears, from the Metal Gear franchise. AT-STs, AT-ATs, and so on from Star Wars. BattleMechs from MechWarrior. Jaegers from Pacific Rim. Mecha (Mobile suits, Knightmare Frames, Variable Fighters, etc.) from anime (Gundam, Code Geass, Macross, etc.). - Jorge: “Oh, the stance and colors are the same, therefore it must be Jorge” That’s a horrible argument. Practical looking powered armor can only be designed so many ways. - Suspicious concept art: I read somewhere that that was actually directly inspired by Reach and intended to be a reference. - Rocket launcher: Tube + trigger + grip = practical. Not many ways to make one practical aside from that.

Right? Most of the “issues” are just “fans” trying to say the game copied Halo. I’ll give them the Pelican argument and the Concept Art, but besides that it’s just nit-picking and finger pointing.

Well COD on it’s own is a dying game, it’s community is more contagious than a flood hive/the FNAF(5 nights at Freddy’s…sorry had to say it, but it’s true), PC community combined as one. Plus Activision never comes up with anything original these days, and plus for a bonus point, when you release a new CoD trailer for your new CoD game, and it becomes the 2nd most disliked video on YouTube(could be higher or lower on that position, haven’t really checked in a while), you know it’s going to be a terrible game. Plus these past few CoDs, they’ve been copy n’ pasting from other games like Halo to save their genre, which in term kills the game all on it’s own.

I wouldn’t say they are trying to copy call of duty just because they put in boosters and the guns kind of look like call of duty black ops 3’s weapons but I think 343 should return to the old style gameplay like in halo 2 and not have req packs.

Also activision should end the call of duty franchise or make they game in the world war or modern era.The only games I have played and liked are world at war, modern warfare and black ops 2 all the others after black ops 2 have been a failure.

I know many things are “common in sci-fi” but there are more things than that, like many parts of the campaign look the same as some in Halo games (anyone really cares of the COD campaigns really not even their own fans care that much, but it’s still a valid point) look at the opening of the first mission, there’s a squad inside an aircraft that jumps from it with thrusterpacks into a snowy planet, then they slide down the ice to then kill a enemy down there that wasn’t expecting that, it is basically the Halo 5’s intro but without the caotic action while Osiris is falling, and as I said that’s only in the beggining of the game.

I was saying the opposite, that Activision is copying Halo and many other franchises.

Yeah I agree what you said but lots of other people think halo is copying call of duty but another franchise I think activision are copying is Titanfall.

well Activision is really copying all of the other franchises, not just Titanfall or Halo (sadly Halo is becoming one of the things they’re copying) IW looks like everything except COD. About Halo copying COD I agree, I think they aren’t at all, they were just adapting the games to look more modern, since many of the things they added are common in mostly every other modern game, let’s be honest, sprint, microtransactions, and loadut systems aren’t unique in COD so there isn’t a fact they were copying COD, even though I really dislike the Idea of the loaduts and microtransactions, while the things COD is copying are actually unique from Halo like artstyle, and even some campaign scenes are took from Halo 5’s cutscenes.

If anything needs to be done the Microsoft’s legal team will already be looking into it. We likely won’t hear about anything unless a statement is made to the press
