It's Ridiculous...

Preface: I couldn’t care less what you reply, it’s not going to phase me…

Anyway,
Every time I come on to the Halo Waypoint forums, I want to get on less and less. If you look at the forum feed, it is literally filled with people constantly bashing Halo 5 in anyway they can. Constructive criticism is one thing, but you can’t say that even a mere 15% of the posts on here are constructive. People, instead of actively looking to make Halo “better,” turn to hate and flipping out at the drop of a hat. There is no “Hey 343 try this.” it’s always “Wow, classic 343, here they go again. I’m done with this stupid game. Sprint is ruining everything. Why they fit this to my needs.” A lot are going to justify everything that I’m talking about; and if you do, then that just proves my point even further. You can’t say that I’m wrong. I’m pretty content with Halo 5. I’m content because I don’t expect a perfect game; and that’s the problem with everyone.

Buuuut, they do nneed to fix the bookmarks, I do love Halo 5 and think it’s an amazing Halo though

Wow, classic 343, here they go again. I’m done with this stupid game. Sprint is ruining everything. Why they fit this to my needs.

Seriously though, I don’t see this topic fostering a productive conversation. I hope it proves me wrong, but ultimately it falls under the “complaining about complainers is still complaining” category in my head. I love Waypoint and all of it’s inhabitants. The crazy claims, the elitism, the repetitive nature- I love it all! If you don’t, then… don’t use it. Nobody is making you.

umad?

I was going down the forums one day and I noticed that too. I know for a fact that 343 is listening and providing us with what we want.

I get tired of this stuff as well, but making a thread complaining about it doesn’t really help.

I would agree with OP. It’s hard to find a constructive argument or comment in the individual game forums. My friends and I debate this all the time, and they just seem to feel that 343i has ruined Halo. They give their reasons for it, but listen to zero rebuttals that I provide them… “I shouldn’t have to read a book”, “I shouldn’t have to get the story form a terminal”, “Hit boxes don’t register”, “Sprint is the worst”. While opinions are fine and I understand their reasoning, they are just completely closed off from having an open opinion which is the worst for the future of Halo.

Op while I do understand what your saying and agree with some of the things you say. But by saying “that’s the problem with everyone” doesn’t sit well with me. And really you know by posting this your adding fuel to the fire for some. So your topic really falls inline with the ones that bother you not? If you are content with the game you should ask yourself this question… Do you feel H5 is a game that is the quality of a triple A game? I myself hold 343i to much higher standards and am far from being content with a game that is suppose to be a triple A game… Now do I think H5 has some good things… you bet! But what bothers me is that 343i has had this Halo title for sometime now and I don’t see a lot of improvement between there games to give them real solid credit of improvement. And that really makes me wonder. While I respect your being content with the game I just want to point out to you that being content may lead to even less quality of a game… And we are talking Halo so in my opinion the bar should be set even higher.

Zippy.

It’s happening because people are finally getting fed up with the weird (bad, IMO) direction they are taking the series. People are tired of it all, so they come here to voice their concerns. If you don’t like that then I’m sorry, but these people have every right to voice their concerns.

> 2533274924514228;1:

Then why should I care what you posted? By the way if you aren’t even going to respond or be open to a little criticism then you are no better, so I’m going to tell you whats wrong with your post in hopes you improve that attitude.

> Every time I come on to the Halo Waypoint forums, I want to get on less and less. If you look at the forum feed, it is literally filled with people constantly bashing Halo 5 in anyway they can.

Then stop, nobody is forcing you to continuisly jump into a sespool. While I don’t particularly like saying leave, in this scenario its justified and completely reasonable.

> Constructive criticism is one thing, but you can’t say that even a mere 15% of the posts on here are constructive.

Yeah, because nobody likes to read a long constructive post when they can simply read a one liner either saying they like the game or hate it. Seriously, the reason people aren’t constructive is because there are either kids who can’t read saying “I like this” or “no” or “git gud” or ignoring them or just some unintelligent post like that which makes everyone who even bothered feel like they wasted their time.

> People, instead of actively looking to make Halo “better,” turn to hate and flipping out at the drop of a hat. There is no “Hey 343 try this.” it’s always “Wow, classic 343, here they go again. I’m done with this stupid game. Sprint is ruining everything. Why they fit this to my needs.”

There are a lot of people who say that, people just refuse to even pay them any mind because they think their opinion comes first and foremost, and guess who they are, the fanboys who make up quite a large portion of the forums.

> A lot are going to justify everything that I’m talking about; and if you do, then that just proves my point even further. You can’t say that I’m wrong. I’m pretty content with Halo 5. I’m content because I don’t expect a perfect game; and that’s the problem with everyone.

Huh, as I suspected. You are just somebody who doesn’t like people disagreeing with you, so you just ignore what others say or you just try to discredit them with an opinion equal to non-constructive hate. People don’t expect a perfect game, they expect a good one that beats the previous ones, not a game that takes a step back in almost every regard. Also, just because you are content with the game, doesn’t automatically mean its all well and good.

Well “you can’t say I’m wrong” is bad logic unless you are talking about facts only. Like, established facts. And I know a lot of people do that and should really do it constructively but the sheer amount of criticism that you have seen is a testament to just how many people there are out there who don’t like this modern halo and want it to change. Regardless if they don’t criticize constructivly they care about the game and could construct constructive criticism if simply asked why they feel what they do. Did you ever think of asking anyone you talk about that?

Not me. Am perfectly willing to discuss things, Like sprint. As you cannot use any features of gameplay except more movement mechanics in sprint makes sprint just an illusion of increasing speed of gameplay. You get shot just as fast from everyone else not using it so how exactly do you think it makes gameplay (not movement speed) faster?

I don’t think anyone is expecting a perfect game, but there are a lot of improvements that could be made to get it closer to that which is why people voice their concerns.

For your other points, what do you expect when people give constructive criticism to the point of ad nauseam only to fall on deaf ears. People get frustrated and lash out.

Did I comment on sprint at all? I know there are people willing to have a debate, but I just said that I feel the comments or “Halo needs to change” threads get a bit carried away without any real constructive criticism or providing a reasonable solution. Not sure why you need to call everyone out in the thread.
