This is what people say whenever someone complains about anything in this game. Ask yourself, was halo 3’s and reach’s beta any different than the real game? No.
I fail to see the point of this thread
Halo 3 had a beta?
I doubt it will be that much different but probably some differences.
People that say things like “wait till you play the game”, “go back to halo 3”, “halo needs to evolve”, etc don’t have a logical retort to criticism.
Things can be changed.
Those demos were months old. They’ve already changed things, tweaked them.
And, the biggest difference, everything will be there. So, yes. There are differences between the final game and a several month old beta.

…Yes! Yes they were!
hes saying that in the past almost nothing changed from the beta so there isn’t going to be change from what we’ve been seeing with halo 4 information.
343i have also stated themselves that what we see is what we get, only very minor tweaks will be made.

And not taking the time to have the beta will hurt because there is no way to get community feedback before it launches, to cover or fix anything that needs nerfing. What will end up happening is a title update that will once again leave the community divided.
Apparently you never played the beta’s then, they were VERY different…
Sure enough there will be changes from the gameplay we’ve seen, however only small ones, finishing touches, no major system overhaul and sandbox changes or gameplay changes. The game is soon released, in the few months left all they do is finishing touches, I bet most time is spent killing some bugs and fixing weapon balance.

That’s a funny joke.

Is it really? I find it to be completely true as well, the Betas for those games were quite different balance-wise, I instantly noticed the differences when I played the release builds.

Ok, so since Halo 4 is absolutely awesome in it’s beta stages and the MLG Pros deem it competitive, then the same applies to the final game right?

So you have proof that nothing was changed, then?
Betas are primarily used to fix glitches, get feedback and hype people up for the game.
Did you actually expect the game to be vastly different from its beta in only 4 month’s time? Nearly all betas look the same as the game when it releases. Gears of War 3 beta, Counter Strike: Global offensive beta, Ghost Recon: Future solider beta, Diablo 3 beta, etc.

A private beta like they’re doing is much more efficient.
-
The majority of players treat the beta as a demo. They just want to play, not find bugs or offer feedback unless something major sticks out.
-
The community, in this state, would be quite uncooperative. 343i would get lots of hate messages and fake feedback like “it all sucks” “AAs suck” etc.
A private beta is more efficient. No one will really hold grudges or be uncooperative. Also, without a beta, 343i has much more time to focus on polishing, which will get rid of a lot of bugs itself.

Halo reach would be good the first time i played it for 3 hours too.

That depends on what is being tweaked.
If PV was tweaked a lot, the game will feel different because it isn’t as effective and it isn’t used as much.
If the Scattershot was tweaked to be weaker, the game might feel different because it wouldn’t be the most effective and desired weapon.

This.^
IMO the Halo 3 beta was the golden age of the series.

And it was good the last three hours I played it as well. Your point being?
Betas are meant primarily to gather feedback on bugs and balance issues, not personal opinions relating to new features/gameplay mechanics.
