I’ve been reading posts on this forum for a while. A lot of you fan boys that think halo 5 is great keep point out the DLC will be free. I would think the term DLC means multiplayer maps and forge, right?
Either way it’s NOT FREE!!! The cost is just included in the games cost. You already bot the DLC, their just not ready to release it yet. Nothing is free when it comes to big business.
Also I’m a huge skeptic and since halo 5 isn’t looking too good, I think only forge will be free and they will charge for the maps.

Well, if you want to get technical, we’re not paying extra for anything released at a later date, so it’s ‘free’. Compared to previous business practices where you pay x amount for the game, and x amount for the dlc/season pass, since we’re just paying x amount for the game, the x for the dlc/season pass is null. Which is free.
Again, technicality. You can think about it however you want though.

Forge has been in every previous Halo at launch since 3. So no, Forge isn’t “free DLC” it’s the other delayed half of the game 343 failed to deliver on at launch.
BTB is in the same boat, and I guarantee you at least 5 of those DLC maps are going to be for BTB (none of the arena maps are BTB compatible), so there’s even more content that is being given to the players post-launch instead of at launch like it should have been in the first place. And all that content was delayed so that 343/MS could release the game before COD and other subsequent competition.

So your saying the price of the DLC was in the game. So the DLC will be FREE when it comes out. And bot? BOUGHT*
There are DLC Halo 5 maps coming out for no additional cost. As good as free. Yes you paid for the game, but if you didn’t this free content would be useless anyway. They could’ve easily made a season pass for $25 and many people would have gladly paid.
The DLC isn’t included in the game’s cost. It rarely ever is. However, micotransactions help fund Halo 5 DLC. So the DLC is only free for you if you don’t purchase any REQ packs.
Anyway, thank the used game markets for these alternate means of generating revenue, instead of hating on gamers…
I wish -Yoink!- would be more lenient with deadlines. It is conducive with quality.
$60 core game… that’s all I bought. DLC is free… fool.

Explain to me why Forge maps don’t count, I understand the Breakout ones.
Right but a lot of Devs charge anyway. So I’m not paying more.
This is such a ridiculous argument. It’s “free,” because they are not charging you for the added development time and post-launch support like they normally would. Paid map packs are the standard. You aren’t paying, but are still getting additional maps. That’s free. As in no additional charge beyond retail. And even ignoring that, at worst you’re just saying they are giving you a better value than standard, because you are getting a large number of maps for the same base price as any other game in the series. So… What was your point again? That it’s a really good value?

this is how many you get at launch, nor forge, it’s the same amount of material, with out co-op or a sensible story, I guess they just figured they can pull this it’s free bs. It’s not free, this game has less in it, and yes they will add more maps later, over all there is less in this game and that’s how they can afford to put in more maps.
