For real people, Halo: Reach is not as bad as people make it out to be, so let’s all stop -Yoinking!- already.
kind heart, welome to the Reach likers club
No one can please some people, no matter HOW hard the company tries
sure Reach is flawed, but givin time, 343 should be abel to fix the issues, just look at the TU beta!
and now they added a custom challenges thing, so you tryhards can boost, and us normal, casual players can create our own fun , see- if- you-can beat-this challenges
Here’s the bottomline:
If you like Reach, play it.
If you don’t, don’t.
Making countless threads about whether or Reach is a good game is pointless.

but is it important to discuss thing that the game needs to be changed, otherwise, it won’t be changed, or maybe even considered
but of course, restating the topic OVER and OVER again is just going to annoy people, and complaining isn’t going to get you anywhere
Things wouldn’t be so bad if people didn’t think their opinions were 100% correct and everyone else was 9001% wrong.
Nope, Reach is pretty damn bad. I applaud 343i’s efforts for attempting to fix this broken game, because it had potential. But it’s like trying to polish -Yoink-, it’s very, very likely not to work.
K… I guess I’m a fake person then.
a lot of people rage at reach because they cant finish kills and they get bullyoinked by armor abilities.
I personally love reach, as do I all the other halo games. And after playing the anniversary gametype I gotta say, what a great way to integrate the only halo game as great as reach into halo reach.
A lot of people will dislike this game mode, but im ready for 3sk just like back on gamespy, this time with some good netcode.
It’s not as bad as some people make it out to be, but Armor Lock and Bloom are just infuriatingly stupid.
Real people? I guess I’m a mannequin now.
OP, its not that reach is a bad game. its still a good game. the fact of the matter is, however, for a HALO GAME it does not meet expectations and falls short in many areas when you compare any halo game to reach for individual mechanics.
its not even a matter of opinion for a lot of things. some things in reach are factually suboptimal, and blatantly terrible (like pre-TU armor lock, and jet pack, for example).

this. its super cool you guys are ‘fine’ with reach and its terrible mechanics, but dont expect people (who coincidentally actually grasp the mechanics in full, and understand their implications on the rest of the game) to jump on the same “REACH = PERFECT. IF U DUN LIEK DEN DUN PLAY IT” bandwagon that literally doesnt help anyone.
we see things that could be improved, then articulate why they are suboptimal, how they are factually broken, and discuss / debate topics revolving around main topics in hopes of ACTUALLY IMPROVING THE GAME.
please, oh please, explain to me how this is helps the game LESS then people giving nothing but positive feedback. the best part is that the positive feedback is obvious. things were improved going from H3 (or any halo game, for that matter) to reach. like forge, for example. theres a lot that reach added, but blindly supporting the entire game and not criticizing the things that are slap-in-the-face terrible will only propagate the problems, and let them bleed into other halo games.
i’d rather say ‘X is bad (or suboptimal), heres why, heres proof, and let me show you the length i can go to to expostulate my thoughts / feelings on said issue because i actually know what im talking about’ than see the same BS move over from reach to halo 4 and pollute / poison that game too.
i promise you, being magnanimous is NOT the correct way to address a game that has major deficits in a LOT of areas. the fact that you / other people can ‘deal’ or ‘get over’ or ‘adapt to terrible’ is irrelevant because the game can factually be improved and many of the things arent even debatable, they are strictly worse.
lolurza I just want to capture you in a pokeball and throw you out at a level 100 onyx.

There’s no point for this thread. Using the search feature, you could find HUNDREDS of threads EXACTLY like this.
lets see:
they ruined halo lore
Bungie lost their edge
Skirmishers? where is the imagination? copying jackal snipers?
Made campaign less fun and less replayable
psychic AI’s
made forge amazing
refined the multiplayer

First shot goes perfectly straight. Could not say that of any other halo. That is why ZB is broken. Instead of accuracy = (whatever), they decided slower fire >fast fire in terms of accuracy. Also, armor lockers are no problem because you can wait for them to run out or armor lock next to them to instant EMP them.

only with a masterball. do you have such a device?

yes I do. in halo reach its called reyaweks’ DMR.

GET THE FIVE SHAWT SPAM KID!
the ‘DMR’ is a joke. battles are either decided by
1.) shooting better vs shooting worse (the DMR works as intended, some of the time, but only at the range in which spamming isnt optimal)
2.) random victor based on shooting optimally at close range (spamming).
3.) random victor if someone is spamming whilst the other is shooting optimally.
maybe 0% bloom DMR, or 115%+ DMR (or something along these lines, when we actually get to use it) would take skill, but not default reach DMR, and not 85% DMR. the default DMR is a complete, and total joke, and the 85% bloom DMR is a joke +15% more joke.
tell ya fwat. go pick up halo 2, practice doubleshotting for a good year, then get back to me about things that actually take some semblance of skill (even the 0% bloom DMR is NOT one of these things).

Sorry, I don’t like my FPS with a side of buttonmash. That can stay in Mortal Kombat.
Some Reach in-game mechanics are bad, but there are some things that are just such a massive improvement its crazy- voting vs vetoing, moving boxes vs actual forge, hitscan vs pretend bullet.
Each Halo game had truly awful parts and amazingly fun parts. Reach isn’t too different in that regard.
Reach by itself is a good game. Reach as a Halo game is pretty abysmal (sans DLC maps). 343 is doing it’s best to change that however.
