It's not 343i's fault.

Not entirely. Not in my opinion. I’m going to place some of the blame on the players.
Here’s a few reasons why…

Stat-padding in objective games has exploded. It was bad in Halo: Reach, but I just avoided the objective playlist. Simple solution. I played KotH the other day and nobody on the other team stepped inside the hill.

No honor on the battlefield causes players to use questionable tactics. I actually rage quit tonight after playing a game against an entire enemy team with active camo and boltshots on Complex.

One guy never left the building on the side of the mountain when he got the sword. Another two stayed on top of the building in the center and spawn killed me.
The final guy was driving around in a ghost killing stragglers.

THIS IS NOT HALO. REACH WAS NOT THIS BAD. SOMETHING HAS CHANGED AND WE CAN’T PLACE ALL OF THE BLAME ON 343i, AS EASY AS IT IS TO DO.

If you’re going to tell me to “don’t play it if you don’t like it”, go somewhere else. I do like Halo. I love Halo. I hate Halo 4. This is not Halo the way Halo was meant to be played.

Strafing, reaction time, and knowledge of the map used to be deciding factors in games. They’re not anymore.

I agree on the most part. With the new addition, COD players have come over, along with their so called tactics. Players are also at fault. Halo 4 is a great game, just needs tweaking.

You’re right, Reach wasn’t this bad.

It was worse.

What’s this? Somebody agrees with me?
Good, I’m glad I’m not alone here.

A few minor tweaks from 343i and a searching through a player’s recently played games and weeding out all of the people that play Call of Duty and we’ve got ourselves a great game.

You just didn’t notice it, then. The mentality of gamers has not changed radically in the past 2 years. There’ll always be HLG, and team-killers, and campers, and stat-padders, etc.

Get over it, IMO.

Oh, totally. I love the fact that players can start out with a shotgun. And the maps that 343i has created… man I love those.

It’s no wonder people pick Haven every game.

Oh yeah, they totally didn’t come here from Call of Duty. This kind of crap has been happening since Halo 1, right?

I guarantee you if they played like this in Halo 1-3, they’d get their -Yoinks!- handed to them by anybody with the slightest bit of skill.

This

Stat padding/objective holding happened in Reach OP, all the time in fact. It’s why many avoided Team Objective and it ended up a dead playlist despite being changed to 5v5.

Also in BTB/Invasion, i would get noobs EMP vehicles and idiots betraying me to where i give them the swift boot.

Exclusive to bigger maps, teams (random or full) would spawn trap you if you gave up map control.

There is no honor in online video games. Halo 4 is no exception. It didn’t even exist in Halo 3.

Try again.

Try again?
You try again. It sounds like we pretty much agree.

Nope. HLG and team-killers happened all the time in Halo 3. Take off the rose-tinted glasses and drop the nostalgia bias, bud.

I made no mention of either of those. HLG is fine. They’re not cheating.
