Aside from the Assault Rifle’s look (since they reused a classic Halo design), all the guns look and sound really generic and seem too floaty like in Halo 5. The environment and character textures still look like plastic and the saturation is cartoonishly high. The game’s environment looks like it was crafted in Halo 5 Forge, not by a studio. Chief’s armor looks better, but the enemies all look too animated, rather than somewhat gritty and realistic like in CE-Reach. The music is not well composed (sounds very generic; using the Halo leitmotif is not enough on its own to make a good Halo soundtrack).
Open world campaign could be interesting, but they had better not add the grappling hook to multiplayer. Spartan abilities like that need to go or Halo Infinite will just be another sci-fi game. Currently it’s looking too similar to Doom 2016 in how it plays.
As of right now, I’m not sold. Feels too much like yet another Halo 5 to me. Hope to see them improve before launch (though I’ll be waiting to hear whether or not the game even functions when it releases before I buy anything; pre-ordering is out of the question now).

Or if they could actually leverage the power of the system. In the recent UE5 demo they showcased how with the next gen hardware they could create massive open worlds with huge amounts of detail in each scene.
This game looks like its going to be disappointing, but hey we have tons of other titles from xbox studios to look forward to.

From what’s been shown the Slipspace engine isn’t capable of what UE5 has achieved.

I’m honestly much happier with this art direction than anything done with Halo 4 and Halo 5. They may have gone a bit far in the other direction but I’d rather the game look more like this than photo-realistic. Classic Halo games never aimed for photo-realism and I don’t think they should start trying now. The two big ones for me are the forerunner cliff sides and the banished phantom. The cliff sides seem too flat and seem to almost be untextured. The flatness on the sides does make sense from a lore perspective because they’re artificially created but it just looks off in the world. A lot of this could be ignored if they something besides a flat grey texture on them for us to look at and that is, technically speaking, easy to fix.
The phantom is the big one for me. It’s too blocky. I get the idea of what they’re going for and the banished vehicles and equipment are usually much more angular and block like than the covenant ever were. But they took the concept way too far with the phantom. On top of that, the flight pathing is wrong. I shouldn’t be looking at how these things fly and be reminded of Skyrim dragons.

What? Did you even play the newer Doom games?
Dude in green suit - Guns - Grappling HookThat’s where the similarities between Halo Infinite and the new Doom games begin and end.

Well, being respectuful with the devs who put their soul in their game, I will buy the game, but not now. Looks very unpollished, missing textures and much more lack of content.
I think Microsoft is pushing too hard to launch this game with the Series X. I don’t mind it if it will get delayed to see a complete game!

Not exactly. It’s just the rushed development of the game. They should be everything ready at launch after all these years. Ambitious idea, but not ready yet.
I think its a fresh take, Halo is a franchise, a household name for many. They are evolving. The graphics look fine to me, i like the fact that the classic elite design is back, i like the movement of the chief, it feels fresh. The brutes face could be a bit more detailed, but in all honesty, we are many months out from launch. They’ve all been working from home so i take my hat off to them. I done game development at uni, both traditional and VR. I cant imagine the challenges they are facing as a studio. They have added all this new stuff, but what strikes me the most is the fact that not once during the demo did i say "There losing what makes Halo, Halo". I am really looking froward to it.
Look on the bright side, the graphics may improve but in all honesty, as long as they give me a solid Halo story that we all know and love, then ill be a happy guy.

Literally just choked on my coffee in laughter. Thanks for this response.

I think you may have been taking a long sleep in Chief’s cryotube / overlooked Halo 5’s campaign (and Halo 4, to a lesser extent).

I think you will find i said a story that WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE (Halo1-4), Halo 5’s story just missed in every aspect.
It is more of the same. People always hate the new Halo until the next one comes out, then they proclaim the one they just hated as the best ever and hate the newest one. Like you said, more of the same.

the music is the part i most hate, it seems like they only need Gregorian chants for make it sound like halo, the gameplay is just halo 5 without spartan chargue, everting looks like mega blocks.
it seems halo wars 2 god-like design was abandoned, also they not listened to the comumunity yeling for the classic gameplay, (after a discussion with over 10000 replies) on top of that they added rpg mechanics, a hook, and what´s next? dialogue options with npcs? demons spawning from the hell? a titan falling from the sky? some cubic objects with saturated colors? is this halo?

It’s Halo 5.2!The same cartoony graphics, hitmarkers that ruin gameplay, stupid yelling enemies, dumb AI.And it seems they retconed the previous game story,AGAIN

As a still piece of art? Not much. It looks fine in live gameplay though and that’s what’s important.
