Its beyond a joke now

With the new update halo just got the game is now 97.2Gb with that taking up all your storage you could probably get 4 big titles and 3 small titles on your console. If they dont start compressing the game now its going to force you to unistall more games than you want to. I really like h5 and its getting to the point i want to uninstall it so i can play more games without installing one and unistalling another.

I think you should invest in an external hard drive. They are relatively cheap and a good investment if you’re someone who downloads/plays a lot of games. I would just recommend not uninstalling H5 though because I did that once and it took 36 hours to reinstall.

Guess why it took so damn long. But buying an external HDD is still worth it… what is no excuse for the huge size of the game.

I’d get one but still it’s dumb how big the game is I’m about to grab a second one

100% agree. I’m fine with my two TB extra. Didn’t 343 mention somewhere that they have problems with compressing the game files? Not sure, though.

I thought the overall storage capacity of the Xbox is poor anyway. Halo 5 is an excessive big saved file. But not the most pressing or essential thing that needs fixing in h5 imo . I bought myself an external hard drive also so not really a problem for me now . Maybe worth you investing in one too ?

I believe the whole point of uncompressed games is to load them faster whereas games on the 360 tend to take a moment or two, of course I could be wrong.

Some perspective:

Why do some games take up so much storage space? We asked developers

a lot of perspective.
if we want a high quality game we have to pay the price, wich in this case means a lot of gigas.

As many before me have said; get an exteranl hard drive. There really isnt any reason NOT too. I got myself a 3 terabyte one for under 50 bucks on sale and I have never broke over 10% used storage.

While getting an external Hard Drive is key. Some of you look at price. And while that is fine and dandy price also dictates quality. If your not paying at least 200 or more for an external then you are sacrificing quality over quantity. Pure and simple. I would also bet most of you that have an external its mechanical rpm driven and not at all a SSD. All those cheapies are old technology… Slow data transfer. There is a difference… The games performance will be sacrificed… Space does not = speed…

I am against them compressing anything. The game isn’t the most stable as is and I just worry if they try to make that kind of change now it will make things worse. The clear answer is just get an external hard drive.

… or just fix the game? As mentioned before, other AAA titles don’t take so much space and have the same ammount or even more content. Not everyone has enough money for a HDD. I don’t see it fixed anyway but a man can hope.

How big is the new update?

I have an External Hardrive but the point is we shouldn’t need to buy space on the xbox just to enjoy multiple games. Halo 5’s size doesn’t match the content we have

A little over 1 GB. I think it’s just bug fixes.

If you can afford an Xbox one and games for it you can get an external hard drive. They aren’t that expensive. You can get one for about the price of a game.

Gears is massive, Forza games are pretty large, hell, even KI is 50GB or so. Don’t forget about ESO either.

Don’t say other games aren’t as large, that’s just incorrect.

(Bold) Not to be harsh here, but I don’t and never have bought that kind of argument for a min. If you have money to buy games, you have money to buy an external hard drive. The thing is people would rather just buy a other game instead. If you don’t play any other games other then Halo, then you have lots of space still on your hard drive.

@OP games are only getting bigger, especially with 4k becoming a thing… so do yourself, your internet data a favor and buy a external hard drive

Grab an external hard drive, my friend. Needs must when demons drive.
