That magical, super-exciting time when a new Halo is nearing the home stretch of the last few months, and when every piece of news is wolfed down voraciously. Yesterday, I imagined launch day, and my entire friends list, besides trolls, hipsters and non-Halo fans (they exist, apparently) will be absolutely flooded with Halo 4 players, with as many as 35 people on at once.
I remember the day before Reach came out, one of my friends got it early, and I was just on the Dashboard, staring at the boxart next to his avatar. DID WANT.
The launch of a new Halo, especially one this exciting where the fiction is moving forwards instead of staying in the past as theyāve been doing for years, is always not just any other game launch. Itās an event. Itās a landmark for the Xbox and for online gaming, and will irrevocably change my online life and the gaming world for years to come.
I do not feel this way at all. Yes the story is moving forward, but Bungie had stories they wanted to tell, and sometimes you need to stay in the past for a little bit. Yeah I preordered Reach and it was awesome. But now I feel like I shouldnāt have preordered HAlO 4, and the excitement is just not the same. I do agree with your last paragraph, because HALO 4 will mark a new era for Halo, just not a good one.
But the game is not out yet, so Iām still anticipating it.
I feel this title is more exciting than the past couple, because story wise, we already knew what was going to happen. What to expect.
I donāt knew anything thatās going to happen in this game and that has me pumped
Looking back on it, Iām more excited for Halo 4 than I was for Halo: Reach. 343i is a new developer and this is their first game in the unveiled Reclaimer trilogy; thereās tons of new content and we donāt know how this game will turn out. Whereas with Reach, we all knew how it was going to end and we were familiar with the developer. Halo 4 is likely going to feel fresh and may rejuvenate the Halo experience.
Oh and ya, no, Iām definitely not a hater. Sure I have my doubts, and who amongst us doesnāt, but I donāt think Iāve been this excited for a Halo game since maybe 3.
I am having a halo launch party at my house on release night with 4 copies 4 xboxes, and a Crap ton of my friends.
Iām getting the limited edition, as well as the console, and Iāll have 2 copies right there.
Plus all my exclusive skins and my fotus armor. I requested off work for the 6th of November through the 8th just to play halo with my best friends, I am so pumped you donāt even know bro.

How can you say it will not be a good era and then say that final sentence haha? A bit contradicting you think? If you werenāt excited and you truly think the game will be a bad thing then why are you here? In the Halo 4 forums to troll like all the other trollers out there or what?
