Maybe Halo just needed to die. We need a new franchise new people just a fresh start. Start from the ground up on the new Xbox and scrap Halo 5.
My reason. Well if you go Halo 5
You somehow have to tell how have to connect 4’ ending to 5’s beginning and unlike 3’s its not that straight forward.
The MP needs some etch and sketch refresh.
New episodic stuff non halo based
New type of horde stuff
LOOk basically learn from all the previous Halo games and create not a new Halo but a new game all together. 343i you need to forge your own blade. Let chief sleep.
Bungie had it a decade. 343 had it for one game so far.
Bungie teamed up with activision so now I wonder if they would have done the same with halo 4 as 343 did.
Bungie launched the crimson steam pirates which is actually pretty fun. I too wonder what their big project is.
Right now there are tons of different developers working on new and innovative games.
The only company in the whole world who does halo is 343. God bless them
So long as the quality of the Halo series remains high, it should continue. There is more to be told in that universe. I wouldn’t mind a shift in genre ala mass effect type RPG. I have always been more focused on the story and campaign than MP, but I would like for Halo to continue with the traditional fps gameplay as well as expanding into other genres.

If Halo continues, it will become a game that has lived across the Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox___. In my gaming experience no game specifically fps MP shooter have successfully transitioned over this amount of years.
I will give Halo (Bungie) props for being able to keep a story going this long. But I stay on my stance that 343i needs to create their own saga.
How many times can chief and UNSC save the Galaxy? As many times as Mario saved peach? Or as many times Link saves Zelda? MP isn’t booming as much as it could either but Christmas may jump start that. Just my open perspective feel free to challenge, call me names, whatever, I will respond

yeah, i really dont think its going to be all that difficult to transition from the end of Halo 4 to the start of Halo 5. 343 just opened up a plethora of paths to go down, im sure they have a plan already that makes more sense and was easier to come up with than the OP thinks.
343i basically revamped Halo whereas Bungie (by being tired of making Halo games) dozed off and forgot to put heart and soul into their last Halo games.
Halo can go on for another 10 years.
And yes, I’m also mildly stoked for what Bungie has in store for us. But on the condition they’ll:
1: Stay very independent from Activision in every way but publishing
2: Put heart and soul into the game like they did with the first 2 Halos
Honestly, I’m just thinking MS should use the next Xbox to give us 1-2 new franchises, a new Alan Wake, a Fable revamp (bigger open world, possible semi-MMO?), more Viva Pinata etc.
Halo is too good and too important to let go. MS just needs to realize that, although it’ll sell between 5-10 million nonetheless, it shouldn’t solely rely on Halo and Gears.
> Im looking forward to bungies new title they left halo to work on. Could be the sort of thing you are asking for?
Same here…but not holdin’ my breath.
OP -
(1) it was very straight forward.
(2) MP needs a complete rebuild.
(3) it’s HALO bible based. MS/343 owns the HALO bible now and can rewrite it as they see fit…-Yoinks!-.
(4) HORDE FTW…love a great co-op horde mode. (PSN playin’ BOII zombies)
