Its all about your attitude really

Just saying, if you buy the game, and play it looking for its faults you won’t enjoy it really and just get mad. If you look at the positive sides of the game and embrace it you’ll most likely enjoy it. That’s how I looked at Reach, so just look at ups of the game not the downs just saying.

Yeah, I enjoy Reach now. Most people on this forum are already set on the fact that they won’t like it. Therefore, they won’t like it no matter what.

True

Exactly they are just fixed on the negative side.

When I first read the gi article and saw the pics I was kind of dissapointed. The more I think about it though (and after hearing Frankie’s latest comments) I am starting to look more positively on this whole thing. Just think about when other Halo games came out and the changes people were worried about etc. I am looking forward to the campaign and the innovative new ideas such as spartan ops. I will judge the multiplayer gameplay and stuff when we get to see more of it.

Funny thing is Reach has some excellent features but 5% of the game was poorly executed with respect to balanced gameplay, that pissed a fair amount of people off and hindered longevity for the multiplayer.

The 343i title update fixed many of those issues and introduced more. What those upset don’t realise is:

  1. They are in the minority and Bungie/343i have access to far richer statistics and players not on forums etc.

  2. Title update is a “test the waters” system for 343i to develop/customise Halo 4, gametypes and playlists.

The fruits of which are going to me fairly impress in my opinion.

YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! Me and a friend were just talking about that TODAY!!

I enjoy games by looking at the positive side, and with Reach i see a nice, fun game.

But most people only look at the bad side, i breaks my heart :’(

Agreed

I went into reach with an extremely positive demeanor and I still ended up hating it. I bought the game fully expecting it to be fun with zero doubts about whether or not I would like it and yet I don’t like it.

I played Reach for what it is, and am having much fun. I played the beta, so I pretty much knew what I was getting. Most of all, I didn’t buy the game expecting it to play like a sequel to Halo 3 and thinking that Reach must abide by the rules of Halo 3. I knew there was going to be something “different.”

Go in with an open mind, try to find something that works for and try to play for the enjoyment of what the game offers.

I agree, don’t play it with the intention to nitpick and point out things you hate. I’m pretty sure many people will immediately point at the thing(s) they hate, come back to the forum and start yelling.

it has a lot more to do with complacency.

personally, when i see mechanics that are blatant fails, i cant just say ‘BUT WE HAVE IMPROVED FORGE!’ and forget about the mechanics that are constantly and consistently making my play experience terrible.

some people dont mind playing a game where you can shoot flawlessly, and lose to someone shooting in the worst way possible (the exact opposite of what bungie intended). personally, i’d rather have the game actually make some logical sense.

shoot better = win. seems optimal.
