It's about time to retire Reach

I’ve played this game practically every weekend since Reach first launched. I have 4 years of wonderful memories playing Team Slayer matches with my wife co-op’ing by my side, but with MCC releasing in less than two weeks, my body is ready for a new Halo matchmaking experience. I think 343 could have done a better job of supporting this game, but I understand why they focus their time, energy and resources towards future titles.

I’m going to miss Swordbase, and Countdown, going miss my Gungnir/CBRN armor and Jetpack AA the most, and I hope someday, maybe for Halo 5 they will bring back the epicness that is the Reach grenade launcher. It’s been fun rocketing the hell outta my opponents on Reflection, Uncaged, and Powerhouse. Reach will always have a special place in my heart, and I’m looking forward to whatever kind of anniversary treatment it gets in 2020, but until then I’m going to be elbow-deep in MCC.

See ya men and women on the flipside.

You don’t seriously think every single Halo game is going to get the Anniversary business? That would mean the following year, they’d need to release Halo Anniversary-Anniversary. Then Halo 4 Anniversary the following year. Then two years later, The Master Chief Collection Anniversary.

Made my day.

Mine as well

Wait, you say you want something new so you’re looking forward to 4 old games?

Its not supposed to “retire” any game. Especially one as good as Reach.

Goodbye, Reach. It’s been fun. However, I have to return to where I originally belonged - Halo 3 custom games. My best Halo memories reside there, and they’re coming back. It’s been fun, Reach, but maybe I’ll see you later. For now, though, I must leave you with my tears. Not really.

Reach was great, I have nothing to complain about in Reach.
Hope fully they will eventually remake Reach for Xbone. Not necessarily soon but later on down the road. like 2017/2018. Reach was a great game and many people still to this day play it, and many more would love to see it released for the new console.

Halo: Reach grossed more money in its first day of release, ($2,000,000), than Halo saga’s record, ($1,700,000), which was on Halo 3. I’m pretty sure Halo: Reach will get some notable recognition from 343 Industries not because of what I stated, but because Halo: Reach was based on sole customization on a hero that was unknown and it was actually enjoyable to limit’s extent.

It would be fantastic if 343 Industries turned their heads to Halo: Reach in 2016, (I would not know a particular date considering MCC was a placeholder in the year 2014 and Halo 5: Guardians is the Halo saga’s 2015 game).

Halo: Reach was and still is a great game, four years and it still hit the ground running. You’ve heard it from one of the fan boy’s himself, that is all.

Retire? Mmm…well as I recall, Reach was the planet where the Spartan’s trained. So I guess yeah, it is time to retire.

Ahem. I think not.

They can retire it if they bring it to xbox one, and only if.
If not, they cannot retire it.

Reach is love, Reach is (my) life.

Reach is my favorite as well…and with the problems with the MCC, i have noticed that the population playing Reach has increased, maybe?

My Reach Spartan will always be my favorite, & hopefully HALO 5 multiplayer will be more like Reach’s & less like 4. HALO 4 was far too CoD like, & I HATE my little plastic GI Joe looking Spartan.

Reach was the game that I probable dedicated the most time (for matchmaking at least) It had what I thought to be the most solid multilayer, and CTF on Blood Gulch…errr “hemorrhage” just, never could get enough of that. As well as beyond the multyplayer, you even had fun story as well. Though yeah, everyone died…that was some good stuff, and I liked how it tied into Combat Evolved…

THAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE

This game was amazing when I first played it. However, opinions can change.

No, in fact I’m counting on an Anniversary treatment of every Halo game as they happen. If so, we won’t be seeing Reach until 2022.

I’m just saying, at that time, I suspected I’d be spending a majority of my time now in MCC Matchmaking. Funny how that turned out…

Looking forward to Halo 2 Matchmaking, actually. I’ve never played it, I started my MM experience with H3, and sharpened them in Reach.

When it became free with gold, the population jumped to about 70K. Now it’s back down to slightly higher than averages of 20-30K.
