It's a Saga now, could this not be Halo 5?

We all know now that the Reclaimer story is no longer a trilogy, but rather a Saga. Could the trailer we saw not be Halo 5 (the next main installment) but rather a solo game with Master Chief in between the 2 main installments?

The Forerunner Saga was only three books. You are a bit behind on the times to be discussing this quite frankly.

I think Frankie did say something about how they were originally planning a trilogy, but now are planning a saga. What that means I’m not sure, but if they were sticking with three games I don’t know why it wouldn’t just be called a trilogy.

I was talking about the games bro, I’ve read the Forerunner Saga.

Just saying, making it a “saga” doesn’t really mean much. It still may just be the three main games. The Forerunner stuff, Kilo-Five stuff, Spartan Assault and whatever just add to it thus making it a saga. It will still likely be Halo 4, 5 and 6 still.

To be honest, I think the Forerunner books are part of the ‘Reclaimer Saga’. That’s how I always saw it.

As for the OP, an interview with Phil S. shed light on this. What we saw at E3 was just a conceptualization of the next-gen Halo universe. Though given his wording, what’s coming out in 2014 probably won’t be Halo 5. I’m just hoping that we get a Reach style game where we continue the story of Spartan Ops.

Not just because I like the concept of a customizable main character, but also to finish out the Mdama/Rebel Covenant storyline. That’s not something I’d particularly like to see featured in the next numerical Halo game. Especially since 343 did a kind a slipshod job of explaining who they were and what they were about.

So you think this will bridge between Halo 4 and Halo 5?

For everyone’s sake it has to be. 343i, after all things considered, did a pretty decent job with Halo 4 overall (there are those who would disagree, sure). But to turn out another numerical Halo game so soon? A shorter development time than all the other main Halo’s, and coming off one that had it’s slew of major problems?

It has to be a bridge, because I don’t trust 343i to deliver a good Halo 5 when they are going to be building on a new system, while correcting the not so well received gimmicks(hopefully) and implementing new/old ones. To do all that on what is essentially less than a two year life cycle? Remember, after Halo 4 came out, a lot of the devs went to work on Spartan Ops, so it wasn’t like they started on the next game right away.

It had better be a bridge.

True, true
