I am playing offline and when I leave weapons and vehicles somewhere, they are gone when I come back? (they despawn)
This happens in campaign and customs. Only to items I have picked up and dropped.
Is this a memory problem or is it supposed to be like that?

Items not in their original spawn point will ‘despawn’ after they haven’t been used for some time.
This is how H4 works buddy. Leave something on the ground for more than a couple of seconds and you had better not expect it to be there when you return.
I believe it’s a memory problem.
It’s also a gameplay problem, because it’s maddening when you drop an Incinerator Cannon for a Boltshot to take out some Crawlers and then you realize it magically disappeared.
It’s happened in every Halo, methinks, but the problem is much more frequent in Reach and H4 (which suggests it is a memory problem).
Oh well…
It was confirmed by a 343 dev in Walshy’s Halo 4 stream that the despawn time as 12 seconds, down from Reach’s 40. You can prevent it from despawning if you’re close enough to it with it still in your vision, but still. Such a short time is incredibly frustrating in multiplayer. If you die, well there goes your awesome weapon. Their excuse was to reduce the number of power weapons on the map due to ordnance. They need to increase it to at least 20. At least.
Absolutely agree! Increase the time back to 40, I say. This is one of the most annoying things for me.
At least this is a universal problem. I began to think something was wrong with my console. It becomes more and more evident that they need to build a new xbox. Or simply realize that we don’t need extra realistic graphics. (I prefer the latter)

In campaign is because of the awesome grafichs. To reach the level of detail, they have to delete items all the time. Noticed that there are very few levels you can backtrack unless you are suppose too? Really hope halo 5 will be on a next gen xbox.
