This is not going to be just any bulletin. It will be the last bulletin 343 drops before Halo 4 comes out. Expect it to be a very emotional read, and maybe contain some things we didn’t already know. It’s been fun continuing the tradition of looking forward to one every week until a Halo video game releases, even since Bungie posted weekly updates leading up to their games. After this bulletin, your excitement for bulletins in the future will probably die down (atleast until Halo 5 gets announced). Prepare yourselves.
I’m not even going to read it. Nothing they say can justify the terrible decisions they have made, especially leading us to believe there would be something for competitive players.
Frankie: “We’ll talk about the ranking system closer to launch…”
Very true story. Pre-release bulletins have always been a tradition of sorts. I will be definitely be looking forward to reading it.

I dont understand this rage… h1 had no ranking, or even online (not counting PC) but its arguably the most loved and most competitive halo…
Whenever i played h2, i played to win but it wasnt in MM… when i got my 43, i just went to gamebattles/customs and did that which is far more competitive than matchmaking, same goes for halo 3… actual competitive settings/games like tournaments and gamebattles will always triumph over matchmaking.

Link to them saying they have a huge surprise? Oh… you were assuming? You know what they say about doing that…
MLG/Gamebattles rankings > a little number in a playlist

are you 10 years old? Is it still close to launch? Yes it is… The game is not out yet and they still have time to tell us… Last time i checked they didn’t say ranking is out period. If they said they will talk about it around launch i am sure they will. Now be quite and grow up and be patient.

Lol someone is mad cause they got stuck in the 30s… full story: i was able to get to 43 before getting modded every game… dropped down to 41, then got 43 again. Just because you are butthurt at your lack of skill, doesnt mean you have to call me a liar when you have no true argument against my post.

Well to be fair, Halo never does that well, in terms of numbers, on GB. Also adding insult to injury, Black Ops does launch a week after H4 comes out. Game Battles has, and still will remain a site where Call of Duty is king.
Sure Halo 4 might have a few hundred, maybe even a thousand teams competing. But those numbers will be nowhere close to the numbers Black Ops will receive. Also, MLG is using Dallas to premier and test out Halo 4. Halo 4 could end up being like another reach for MLG; it didn’t last long on the circuit.

I’m still going to get the game, I’ve been a Halo fan for 10 years and I don’t plan on stopping. Halo 1 was a great game it proved that FPS games could be great on consoles. I played tons of splitscreen and lan games and it was awesome. Halo 2 ventured online and it was revolutionary, to say the least. So many of the features from that game have been copy pasted to other games because it worked so damn well.
The ranking in Halo 2 was awesome, it made matches intense. A win was gratifying and a loss could really piss you off. The online experience was rivaled by no game, except of course it’s successor, Halo 3. While both games experienced some cheating, when it worked it worked beautifully. It is like playing poker with money or without money. When you win, you win, when you lose, you lose.
After Reach it just wasn’t the same, no one really cared anymore. My whole friends list used to be FILLED with Halo players but after Reach everyone split off. Now that was a misstep on Bungie’s part but I was hoping that 343i would rectify that with Halo 4 but the more and more I see, the more disappointed I become. It hardly resembles the game I fell in love with, and while it may be fun I can already tell it won’t draw me in like previous games.
A lot of people joke about how “Oh, you just want pixels by your name?” well, hey if it’s that easy why don’t they just do it and avoid the -Yoink- storm? 343i you STILL have time to fix this and please ALL of your player base. You made a playlist for GRIFFBALL and INFECTION, how about one with an actual ranking system? For the amount of work required to do it, I don’t see why they don’t do it.
Don’t know why, but I get this funny feeling they are keeping something else under wraps for competitive players. Guess we won’t know until in 5 days
> Don’t know why, but I get this funny feeling they are keeping something else under wraps for competitive players. Guess we won’t know until in 5 days
I do hope there is something. Or even a playlist is added with a visable skill, but if not then ill still enjoy the game because so far it at least looks better than reach (not sure a game could be worse lol) but customs and gb has always been my place for competitive play

Shut up and play the game for fun. Competitive players really piss me off because they really miss the whole point of video games.

ya im sure you got that 43 legit, and why would i be mad about being stuck in the 30’s in halo 2. i had a 36 in slayer and 38 in snipes, that was top tier in that game without cheating.

Lol k. I had a 40 in snipes and a 43 in slayer. I was modded 3 games in a row and dropped to 41. I then pulled host to get my 43 in slayer back. That may have been manipulation but many people did it to avoid being modded. Then once i got to 43 it took forever to find a game since modders also pulled host so then i stuck to customs.
Never modded and got to 43 in slayer and 40 in snipes. Now please, get some baby powder for that sore butt and stay on topic with the debate rather than calling people out for simply being better than you. Its immature and doesnt help your cause.

I think my highest was a 33 or 34. I don’t know of anyone who had 40+ who were legit in Halo 2, unless of course they bridged for host so they didn’t get modded, but even then I don’t know.
