DLC weapon skins.
We’ve seen it in GoW3, and look how bad that turned out. Heck, about half the things in Multiplayer were all Disc-locked and reserved for future DLC. Seeing as how there will be weapon skins now, I hope 343 doesn’t walk the same path EPIC did.
Let’s just hope these are subtle skins and textures
Where is your source stating ‘‘Weapon Skins Confirmed’’? I do not recall anyone ever saying there would be skins for the guns.

Hey i just want to know from anyone whats the issue with weapon skins? its in COW COD and many others. And its not like it effect game-play. I’m not trying to be rude just wanting to know why people have and issue with such a small addition. Is the issue with disc-locked content or something else?
With the limited edition for crysis 2 they gave you a multiplayer weapon skin for the assault rifle and I believe that it was the only one in the game.
So in this case it could be as simple as being the only weapon skin for the game (exclusive to the limited edition) or it could be hinting at weapon a skin system similar to the way gears of war 3 did theirs.
I hope that they aren’t going over board with weapon skin dlc…

I don’t have a problem with Weapon skins as an unlock. But restricting access to it only reachable via DLC is where I draw the line.
I don’t know we could see an item on the market place that’s worth 4200 Microsoft points. With a mother load of skins that you will not be using XD.

I think they would rather have the skins be part of the progression system than DLC.
GoW3 sold so much DLC to support the dedicated servers.

The look should really only be the point in my opinion. With all the vary mods in Halo 4 let’s just keep the gun function normal.

Just look at GoW3. All of the Weapon skins were blocked from you, even though they were already on the disc. I’m not saying that there shouldn’t be any weapon skins, just the way they could implement them is what concerns me.

Um to me it doesn’t look like DLC just Exclusive Like ME3 exclusive weapons and other games as well not to upsetting especially for those so mostly likely wont even care is only aesthetics

What even lends to the idea that its DLC? It exclusive and that’s it. Everything else will be available in game except for the select few that are available in LE
I don’t want any crazy colors or BS that looks very un-spartan like. No stupid floating hearts or confetti (I know, armor effects, you get the idea).
That being said, if I can make my BR black like it used to be, cool.
As long as it doesn’t destroy immersion then I’m fine with it.

I know that the LE skin is exclusive. I’m just saying that if there are going to be more weapon skins, just don’t use them as cheap DLC.
Ok I see a bit of your point now but I highly doubt they would do that to us but who knows they haven’t showed us that much info.
Chances are it’s like one skin that slightly changes a gun or a couple of guns for LE buyers, what are you complaining about?
Weapon skins are not confirmed, only that there will be an option for another variant, much like the honour guard wraith for Halo wars LE. As for the whole DLC thing.
It probably won’t be sold as DLC and that aside, it’s a weapon skin/s hardly takes ages for someone to make one up and was likely done after the game had gone gold/ was content complete.
Cool Skins: MK9 style
Where your gun or character are just turned “Old school.” For example: looking Like Halo CE MC or a Halo Wars Spartan. Making the AR look like the Reach AR or the BR like H2.
Gimmicky nab the 8 year old’s attention skins: GOW
Bright colors and patterns to look like paintball guns and match your non-Halo visual Hayabusa armor. I would be accepting of 1 “golden gun” type of thing though I’m sure 343i can be more creative than to copy COD . . . Again . . .
