It will be sad to say goodbye.

I hope Microsoft changes their terms with the Xbox One, drm, internet having to be connected, and the Kinect having to be connected. I love Halo. I want to play halo 5 as we all do. But the three things listed above are deal breakers for me. I go to my friends house to play xbox all the time, they come to my house to play xbox as well. On the xbox one we would be limited to 1 hour, WHY? I like to play a game before I buy it to see if I like it so I do not waste money. Well you can no longer rent games for the xbox one so I would not be buying games because if I did buy a xbox one game and do not like it, I can not return it. If I buy/ pay 60$ for a game, I like to feel like I actually own what I baught and im not like I am just renting it. As for the Kinect, if I do not want to use a Kinect why am I being forced to not only have to use it but im being forced to buy it with the xbox one If I was to buy an xbox one. The Kinect has an off button that you switch off yet the kinect still listens forvoice commands so when you switch it off it is infact still on monitoring you. Why can I not unplug it unless I am using one of the features that requires it?

For the first time in 12 years I am thinking about switching to Playstation.
I do not want to do this but it looks like Microsoft is not going to budge on fixing these issues.
God I hope im wrong and they fix it.
If not, Im sad to say goodbye not to xbox, but to Halo ← the only reason I ever switched to xbox in the first place.
Does anyone else feel this way? Are these deal breakers for you?

Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your PlayStation.

For obvious reasons I can’t explain the process, but there are ways to “trick” your Xbox into thinking your hour never ends when you’re with a friend. Although it might limit you from some LIVE functions.

Hope this helps  but enjoy your Play Station if not.

Its going to be a hard decision for many Halo fans, I will most likely go with the 1, but I’m not certain.

Hopefully they will improve but even that is unclear, if they don’t, have fun with the PS4 (looks good).

Don’t worry, you can still try, but without going over to your friends house. Just as long as he has you in his game circle, you can play any game he owns whenever you want, as long as he isn’t playing it at that time (unless he’s +1’d you, then you can both play the same game from his own library). Also, the DRM is neccasary to not have people abusing the new “put in disc, install to console, can now play whenever you need to without putting in disc again” thing. And with the Kinect, it’s already confirmed that all though the Kinect is technically ALWAYS on, that doesn’t mean you can’t make it equal. You have the option to turn off all of it’s features. If you want to turn of the microphone, go right ahead. Want to get rid of motion capture? Fine. Want it stop seeing in general? Alrighty. All of those options are available on the console.

I’m getting a PS4, will play Halo on a mate’s Xbox One.

No worries.

I wish you best of luck on the Playstation, me, I’m bound to Xbox via Halo, the controller and the exclusives, (Look up Titanfall, it looks great) Also most people I know are on Xbox.

I’m going PS4 until Halo 5 drops, personally. All the stuff that people hate about the One really doesn’t effect me, so I have no problem with it, it’s just that the PS4 has more to offer.

yeah Halo has declined over the years and is sadly no longer a reason for me to sell my soul to the anti-consumer product known as the Xbox One.

I won’t be gettign the xbox one.

Before someone leaves that snark comment of “have fun on PS4 then and leave”

Who ever said I would get a PS4? There is this thing that crushes the Xbox One with it’s little finger known as the PC. The ultimate all in one system.

Until MS changes policy I won’t buy it.

…What if Microsoft was deliberately making a terrible console so everyone would migrate to their PCs?

“Whoa there, Satan.”

I just cancelled my pre-order of the Xbox One after reading about MS’s policy change, although, i would truly hate to leave Halo.
Also, cancelling my Xbox One pre-order doesn’t mean i’ll be getting the PS4. Never trusted Sony whatsoever.

@Xedria
I don’t think MS would do that, IMO.

I have seen titanfall, It does look AMAZING!
Also I do love what they have done with the new controller reminds me of my madcatz mlg controller.

Yeah the Xbox One is going to Blow. PS4 Here I come!

Most of those things will not affect anyone.

MS has already said the ability to trade/sell used games is up to publisher. Sony has the same policy because its up to the publisher, not MS or Sony.

Kinect video/sound is controlled by you the user.

As far as always online, its not always online. Just that in order to play a game your system will ‘check in’ and then you can play it offline for 24 hrs. Who plays offline anyway?

At first I was really annoyed because I was listening to all these rumors. When I actually read the policies I realized this affected me 0%. If you are a big used game person I guess yea the companies, MS and Sony are helping game companies stop it. My only gripe is the $499 price tag.

I don’t think I will be getting an xbox one either, with all these stupid restrictions. The main reason being that I always buy used games for real cheap off of ebay and amazon. This won’t be possible anymore with the xbox one. Also there’s the fact that the xbox one is $100 more than the ps4.

I think you might be confused about the 1 hour thing though OP. It doesn’t mean you can only play for 1 hour if you bring your game to your friends house. It means the xbox one has to check in every hour, instead of the usual 24 hours. So as long as your friends internet doesn’t go out for an hour, then you should be good to play as long as you want.

If you want a solution to the renting games issue, just watch gameplay of the game. Or maybe there will be more game demos on the marketplace.

I suggest just waiting it out. Wait to see if Microsoft changes anything, because I can’t see them not changing anything after the backlash of their conference. Honestly, people need to grow up, and go read all the info available, and read it well. Cause if the main problems (which seem to be the used games, Kinect always on and the 24 check in) don’t effect you, what’s to complain about?

XBOX FTW

From a post earlier.

Bottom line on X1
