It Was My Best Halo Game of All Time Until This

Gather round Spartans, and hear my tale of woe.

I’m a mediocre Halo player at best. In Arena, I will never be the top player. If I kill someone with a sniper, it’s probably luck. But in Warzone Firefight, I generally finish in the top half, mostly because of my use of vehicles. In this particular match, however, I was on fire.

I had hit REQ level 3 by Round 1, and Req level 6 by Round 2, allowing me to pull out a Corp Scorpion to blast away enemies. I passed 100 kills by the end of Round 4, and was feeling damn near unstoppable. When my tank was destroyed at the end of the “Defend the Garage,” I knew I needed something special to continue my win streak: so I used my Temple Banshee – the only one I had, as I don’t have the cert card for it and received it as a daily bonus. I used the banshee to take out two Phaetons and then began Round 5. I took out 2 of the 4 covy bosses and was on my way to attack the final bosses spawning inside the base. It was my best Halo game of all time.

AND THEN I WAS KICKED OUT OF THE GAME WITH THE MESSAGE: “YOUR CONSOLE HAS LOST CONNECTION TO THE GAME.”

That was it. With just a few minutes left to go, I was kicked out. No req points – even though I used a Rare RP boost card – and I lost my sole temple banshee. There isn’t even a record of the game under Game History. It is as if it never existed. My best game of Halo… forever lost to history.

I only have 20 silver REQ packs left before I max out, but… oh the frustration. Can you hear me screaming from here?

Call of Duty can tell whether someone disconnects or purposefully quits. Why can’t Halo?

Sounds like something that would happen to me…lol. It sucks…

My understanding of the banhammer is that it can somewhat tell. It knows if you go into the menu and press “quit” and then “yes I want to quit” but it also knows when you suddenly disconnect. The problem is they have the same impact on the match regardless of intent so they really shouldn’t be treated differently.

But I am curious- since the OP never mentioned a ban surely you’re suggesting that Halo get a different system where the OP would have still gotten req points and xp? Otherwise I don’t see why you brought it up.

A system like that would be exploited to the moon and back. Pulling the power on your router perfectly simulates a power outage.
