Same here brother. Good bye NNN.

Hold up this is the Halo Forum. My bad. I saw the topic title and jumped the gun.
Anyway…Good for you. Vote with you wallet.

I spent $20 up front. $10 for the battle pass and $10 for goodies in the store. I will not spend another cent in the game. I promise you that.

Who asked for Halo to be free though? If they gave me a full fledged MP experience I’d pay the full price of a game with no hesitation.

Post like this really make me wish I did not buy the pass immediately. I thought the system was going to be better and the the battle pass would just be an extension to the customization system. Not the sole source of customization.

I bought the battlepass right when the game came out and I’m regretting it. This dumb freaking challenge system makes me feel like I’m slaving away so that I don’t feel like I wasted $10.

So. Much. This.
If I’m paying ten bucks on a battlepass, I expect it to be of a similar value to the other ten dollar battlepasses. This one straight up sucks in comparison to the ones in other titles, which is pathetic. There’s stuff on the paid track that should be in the free track (MK VII armor pieces) and there’s stuff that SHOULD be in the battlepass that’s gonna be sold in STORE BUNDLES!

I refuse to buy stuff that’s designed to be a ripoff.

Lol this game won’t last 10 years… The way it’s running now it will be the player base is MCC by the 1 year mark

They’d be lucky to even match the MCC player base at this rate. Almost every Halo player I know is already bored of Infinite and returning to MCC or moving on to other games.

I was rank 46ish in Halo 3, a Forerunner in Reach, and Rank 147 in Halo 5. I’ve played Halo almost exclusively for 10 years, and Infinite has turned me off Halo altogether.

Silver lining - I have a HUGE backlog of quality games to play.

You make an excellent point. For the amount of real item value in the BP, $10 is too much for so little.

$20 for the Anubis armor and pose? Get real, Microsoft. I haven’t seen a single person with that armor yet and I hope it stays that way until it works its way into an earned reward and not just a purchase.

Microsoft has no idea what the optimal value of any of this really is, and the decision to force 343i to monetize excessively was likely spawned from this lack of market data. In their uncertainty they overvalued each asset, and filled the battle pass with useless items.

Right!? I haven’t played in over a week(uninstalled) but I’ve been watching very closely and it’s just a mediocre experience overall. Anyone with a brain who’s a competitive shooter/Halo fan can see that. Without even getting into the looney XP/BP stuff, we have a “fun” game that has great bones but lacking maps, modes, weapon variety…the list goes on. Right down to weapon and vehicle balance/spawning/ made of glass :S issues.

I can’t wait to see what happens on launch day and we find out if this is really a ‘bEtA’. :open_mouth:

I didn’t ask for Free-to-play. I would’ve gladly paid an up front fee for Multiplayer if I actually had some default customization and could pick my own darn primary and secondary colors FOR EVERY ARMOR CORE instead of 343 literally trying to resell me basic blue and red for $8.

LOL people spend $10 on a cup of coffee. $10 on fast food. You wont spend $10 on a battle pass that last 6 months that has some cool unlockables (Not a lot but some) for a game you probably will spend hours playing. Makes total sense…

The 10 dollars for the battlepass provides me with 12 armor sets and 44 challenge swaps, as most of the other stuff is of no use to me since the coating I actually want is locked behind another 10 dollar purchase for the wrong set of armor.
I can get so much more in Warzones battlepass, it’s actually pathetic how MSoft/343 have a worse battlepass than an Activision game.

Or to craft your own color patterns using basic colors and the ability to unlock more unique colors later, sort of like in Warframe.

Also I have to kind of disagree with not making it free to play…
With the previous model where you get one big block of progression, they’d likely support the multiplayer for a year, then support would fade out entirely as they move on to the next big project.
This model has a lot of potential in that the 343i team can continuously expand the multiplayer and add content over the next few years with the continuous revenue.
But the WAY they did it is killing the game, quickly.

The monetization is even killing the gameplay…

A quick rush of players logging a bunch of hours all at once then a steep drop-off as the overvalued battle pass and microtransactions squeeze all life out of the game.

Without challenge swaps, there’d be no real reason to limit the playlists to Quickplay, BTB, and Ranked. And who’s even buying those? They castrated the multiplayer playlists for ONE. USELESS. ITEM.

And yeah, okay, having those random playlists is a good idea, but not when they’re the ONLY playlists available. They could’ve at least brought back pregame lobbies where we could VOTE on the next map and gametype. But nooooooo apparently challenge swaps are too valuable to them.
All the challenge swaps I got from the battle pass and used have only resulted in worse challenges. It’s better just to stick with what challenges you already have.

Yeah its not ideal, but the other half is armor and customizations. if you were to buy all of that you’d be looking at north of $100 the way they have the store set up. I’m not saying its a non issue, I hate it as much as everyone else, but its less broken then the timed, expensive, boring store.

Not saying I wouldn’t do the same but none the less, its a free to play experience. Cosmetics seem like a silly thing to complain about. Just my opinion. I’m more concerned about the mechanical changes the game needs…things that effect the gameplay experience.

…basic blue and red are free. just saying

Not for the Yoroi armor.

Also the red in the Scarlett Medic pack or whatever was a free ‘Cadet Red’ in the Tech Test but was removed and now sold in a bundle.

I bought the battle pass so I had something to work towards and some options. But I really don’t see myself buying into anything within the store unless there’s a massive shake up.

Not because I don’t like the system (I don’t), but because there’s barely anything there. The fact I keep reference Call of Duty in my posts shows that something is so off base with this game.

At least with CoD Warzone you have tons of things to buy and customisation is super accessible. With Infinite, I genuinely struggle to try and make myself look like a unique spartan, which for a Halo game is just utterly wild. Something must change.
