Day in and day out, All I see is “Halo 4 is CoD Space Warfare”, “Halo 4 is going to fail”, “Spartan Ops should change its name”, “Spartan points? Halo is CoD now”…I could literally right a 5 page essay on all the negative things people have said about the game.
How hard is it for people to keep an open mind about things?
Yes its completely understandable to jump to conclusions, however to not be willing to step back and look at the big picture is simply childish.
People say Halo is becoming another game, however these people haven’t…
-Played it
-Seen more than 5 minutes of gameplay
-Have seen all of it features
-Seen first hand how 343i is going to integrate new things
etc.
My personal opinion is that Halo 4 is going to be pretty fantastic, however it is just an assumption and cant be proven at all till the game is out and I have a chance to play it. Many of the people saying these negative things towards this game are practically stating it as fact.
The last time I checked, CoD did not have copyright ownership of,
-Instant Respawn
-Custom Loadouts
“Ops”
“Points”
Im sure in the coming months more hate threads are going to be made on this forum targeted towards 343 and Halo 4. I would challenge these people to wait till the play the game and then right your hate mail, but I know that isn’t going to happen.
Being part of the Halo Community I would assume that the rest of you would have a bit of faith and decide to believe in 343i until the final game comes out…

Not all competitive players are bad. I go from casual to competitive all the time. It’s mainly the conservatives that are sill stuck in the year 2007.
I was a comp at one point, I just don’t have time anymore, adult life and so on, I can see their side but honestly what happened to rising to the challenge? Now they cower before any change at all

You don’t know anything about the game yet so stop complaining.

My thoughts about this is that I appreciate Halo for trying to innovate. I like COD also but in order for the Halo games to survive, it needs to change and mix a couple of things up. One of the reasons I find why Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, and Halo 3 were so special to many people is that it’s a unique experience. Each to their own.
The games themselves are a bit of the same backgrounds but what makes it special is that each of the games have it’s moments. If each and every game came out with the same things all the time (or for the most part), then the good memories of Halo 1, Halo 2, and Halo 3 wouldn’t be as unique as they are. Just some examples where Halo 2 introduced the energy sword. Then Halo 3 implemented the hammer. Halo 2 had dual wield. Halo 3 added equipment items. Halo Reach tried armor abilities.
I think what the past Halo games in the trilogy have done was legendary (music, story, characters, multi-player, etc.) But those are the good ol days that should stay there as good memories. Of course it isn’t bad to have many of those features in the up-coming Halo game (battle rifle). Let 343 do what they do and see if the game fits your interest when it comes out. If not, that is ultimately your choice.
P.S. It’s not that COD doesn’t innovate but I would like to see a bit more of change and style from each game. In addition, this is just my opinion. It is not correct, incorrect, valid, invalid, and so on. Just my opinion. Too many other things to include also as if this wasn’t large enough already. Spelling and grammar, english, not the best.

Its people like you…good sir…That I am addressing in the OP. I don’t know if you are visually impaired, but there are more words after those.
I’d take the complainers anyday without hesitation rather than the people who act like nothing’s wrong and think they’re better than the complainers.
If the entire community had the mindset of the “open-minded people”, there would be no point to the forums at all.
343i holds up this forum to see fan feedback on what we know and our concerns about the game. If everytime they checked in and we just said “It’s k 343 we think the game will be great just do yo thing wuv woo <3 :)” we’d be giving them nothing constructive and they could pretty much do anything to the game.
People are simply expressing their concerns about the game. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. bs angel’s pinned topic even says that we are allowed to get mad and be frustrated with the game, but as long as people keep their posts flame free it is a-ok to post as such.
Look at the recent topic about the guy expressing his disliking of sprint. Yeah, he could have been more constructive, but he was still confining perfectly within the rules of the forum. And yet, the replies. The replies are filled with flames on how he should “deal with it” and “GET OUT”. Seriously? So he criticizes an aspect of the game and that’s how some of you treat him?
Note that I think the game looks fine right now and am stoked to play it, so don’t try and hit me with "YOUR JUST ONE OF THEMMMMMM!"
If you’ve been to any other video game forum pre-release, you should know that they’re all like this. This may be a little worse than others (mostly because Halo changed hands to 343), but it’s still not as bad as it could be.

I think that you shouldn’t assume everyone that act’s like nothing is wrong think’s they’re better than the complainers. But it makes sense a bit because of how people may not be cautious as to what they say.
Secondly, I’m sure that the people who are on the forums of Halo 4 can be open-minded and still give critical feedback. Being open-minded doesn’t mean we can’t be helpful towards giving suggestions and feedback that could make the game better.
Lastly, I agree with your opinion on the purpose of forums, to have people comment, give feedback, and etc. for the game. But I think some can be open-minded and still accomplish that.
