It’s Time to Adapt to Sprint

Guys it’s clear that Halo will never go back to Classic Movement because it’s boring, honestly I think we just need to accept the change and adapt to sprint in halo and slide as well I’m sure it will be good just give it a chance y’all.

I personally don’t care one way or the other but to be fair, people who don’t like sprint have given it 3 games’ worth of chances. I don’t think this will change their mind.

I’m all for sprint, climbing, jet packs. assassinations all that definitely not the hook tho. But I understand some fans wanting old school arena type modes. They simply need to just have both options. I can’t imagine it would be costly to give the fans a basic simple arena grab gun and shoot on top of the more complex sprint, slide, shoot, fly, boost, assassinate slam, ect modes.

They would also need to create new maps designed for the new game type and adjust shooting mechanics all over, not to mention vehicles.

Are you seriously saying that when you pick up your copy of Halo 3, insert the disc and jump into the best video game campaign of all time, you find the gameplay boring? And that’s because it doesn’t have sprint? Is that honestly what you’re trying to tell us?

We gave it a chance for 2 major titles in a row, 3 if you count Reach.
You can increase base movement speed that way people can shoot, ,melee, and grenades.
We don’t need to accept this form of change and adapt.
If anything we need to go back. 343 has not even released a classic experience to gather data.
Which means its only speculation that Halo would fail if it was classic mechanics.
We have more data on how Halo has declined in both numbers and user satisfaction since sprint and other mechanics to accommodate sprint has been added.
The population on both Reach and Halo 4 showed a massive decline in population after release.
Why do you think 343 removed player numbers in H5?

I do not think we need to adapt and accept that 343 is just looking at other games and throwing it in Halo. Without giving us what we’ve asked for.
Now i’m all down for crazy experimentation in Spin-offs. Hell ODST kinda dabbled with open world.
But we’ve gone too long without a main title giving us the classic experience .

People who defend sprint always say this. “Classic is boring” But there is no data on this.
343 has refused to make a Halo game with classic game play.
At this point is probably because they are afraid that for the past 10 years. They were wrong.

Same. I’ve been adapted to Sprint for like, ever. But it didn’t hinder me one bit when I went back to play Halo 2 and 3 on the MCC, or Mythic in 5. Actually? It was just as fun, sometimes even more so. So I can get where they’re coming from, I just personally don’t really have any real passion for the mechanic one way or the other. It’s inclusion or lack thereof never made me think any differently about the games I’m playing.

What’s boring is sprinting and getting killed because someone is not sprinting. What’s boring is them making maps bigger for no reason other than sprint. What’s boring is slower gun fights because of sprint. I want a mans game. Go play a good team in Halo 1-3 and you’ll see what I mean. All regarded as the best due to gun skill and faster gameplay. Because sprint slows things down…

I’ve honestly never had a problem with sprint and I’ve been playing since CE. H3 is still my favorite in the franchise, but sprint has never been an issue for me. Spartan Charge and ground pound on the other hand, glad they’re not coming back.

Sprint has no place in an arena shooter.

Add sprint into Overwatch or Quake and see what happens.

As Chris Ray Gun explained, sprint in multiplayer as well as most forms of “enhanced mobility” really breaks the Halo sandbox. For example the limits placed on a player’s mobility tend to give purpose to vehicles in that they allow players to traverse the map at faster speeds in vehicles at the expense of being a bigger target or in terms of the ghost having slower projectiles (plasma weapons).

Look, I’m terrible at explaining this and I’m trying to summarize Chris’s video so here it is, a true love letter to why Halo’s classic gameplay is so good

Why sprint and enhanced mobility break the sandbox.

Who hasn’t adapted to sprint and slide?

and not forget that other players that are new to halo have play other game’s before there are playing the halo game’s then its for then looking wierd more that in other shooter game’s there have play there is a option off sprint will its not in this game and not are staying to keep playing it.
there seeing things diffrend then old school halo players and thats something 343 is doing to give newcommers to the game also a good feeling.

Disappointing to see that there has been no advancement in pro-sprint arguments since 2010.

I’m surprised at the longevity of the anti-sprint crowd in Halo. The last FPS Halo game that released without sprint was ODST. That was 11 years ago. I wish more people had that kind of dedication to causes in real life.

The sad part is they keep reducing the delta between base movement and sprint because they insist on trying to satisfy both sides.

I still don’t know why they couldn’t have just given us the Doom reboot treatment and just do high movement speed and then add an animation for when you haven’t shot in a while where your character puts the gun down so it looks like they’re running.

True, and each Halo with sprint is decidedly less popular than the Halo titles with no sprint. This is not a coincidence.

Most 4v4 maps don’t have vechicles though and in BTB even in H5 and Warzone it was still necessary to have vechicles because of the map size and increased firepower they have.

Maybe I have the wrong disc, but when I insert my H3 disc it doesn’t let me play Halo 2…

You must have the special edition or something.
