No reasonable or intelligent manager would ever rely solely on outsource/contract work in this way. Regardless of whether or not they’re working in a big AAA studio.
pretty sure that’s what happened with 343.
Then that would be absolute incompetence. The other guy suggested it was standard practice for big games and that indie games don’t have that problem.
have you not seen all of the open “senior” positions 343 currently has, even the MP lead was recently canned
I am sorry but I have to pull you up there
I have read through the entirety of this thread, and it is not constructive nor productive disagreeing just for the sake of disagreeing; not willing to be or proven wrong
By all means disagree as much as you like, you are entitled to have an opinion. I can understand your perspective, but this is a blatant contradiction and a form of gaslighting. Take some responsibility and accountability for what you have said and move forward from there
It is okay to make mistakes, but it’s not okay to cover them up and not own up to them
that’s all this guy does is gaslight and talk in circles
I don’t think Indie devs have the luxury of people coming in for short restrictive contract work.
Any further discussion with this guy is obviously a waste of time.
I wouldn’t buy a game if this guy was involved in the project. However, if he was rich and running the studio I wouldn’t mind applying for a job there. Sounds like quite the gravy train.
Its a real shame they don’t in the short term port some of the classic Halo maps into the rotation. I can think of many multiplayer & BTB maps from 1,2,3,4 & Reach that would play fantastic in Infinite. The core of the game feels great but there’s so many bugs and such limited content I feel there’s a giant disconnect between 343 leadership and the standard fans have with title releases. As someone that’s trying to salvage the reputation of this title because I want Halo to succeed I don’t understand why there’s not more short term solutions. I feel they’ve already tarnished any chance of picking up new fans given the game still feels like a BETA.
Where’s the blog post this week?
We need an update on the progress for upcoming features and changes being made to fix known issues?
Whats the go?
https://twitter.com/ske7ch/status/1507481159839588352
Thats a twitter post…
The past four weeks we have had consistent updates on waypoint. Akin to the old weekly updates halo 4, 5 had.
The first was a road map for season 2 noting 100 new cosmetic items were ready for the S2 battle pass, and mentioning the delay of co-op.
The second was about desync and issues with host connection and ping.
The third was about the ranking system and how it works behind the scenes.
The fourth was about anti cheat and their plans to develop their own in house anti cheat system.
They said that were being more transparent about their week to week work load and whats going on behind the scenes… But this week, week 5, they seem to have changed this? Why?
The Twitter post answers the question I quoted from your post. Better you read the source than a 2nd hand quote from me.
For the question in your final paragraph - that’s a question for 343i, not me.
Which is why Im posting on the 343i forums.
That’s fine, but you asked the question at the end of a reply to my post.
Fingers Crossed this week yields more fruit.
Some kinda outline of season 2.
Info on the new Mk 6 gen 3 core.
An updated Tenurai event (oddball Fiesta anyone?)
Where they are at with the 4 prior posted issue blogs. Desync, Ranked, Anti Cheat, Season 2.
Anything. Just to feel a pulse on this game please.
Halo deserves it.
Might have some stuff on Desync, Ranked and Anti Cheat. Season 2 or further Cosmetics don’t seem to fit in with the description. We’ll likely only get more on season 2 once the Season 2 Marketing kicks off (at least that’s what Joe Staten said in the previous S2 blog post).
Honestly not surprised about this delay.
Saw it coming months ago.
Community managers that address twitter before their own forums and employees on 18 month contracts.
A year in, season 1 + 2, 6 months each, results in 2 new maps, 100 new store items and no fixes to ongoing issues.
How will the community protest? - they’ll flood the game at launch- buy the season 2 BP and continue to enable this rotten company holding thy reigns of our beloved franchise…
Yep. Definitely not with 343.
And I hope @KatnissOnFire96 was referring to someone else.
Would love to work for them. I would be kicking back with my feet up playing with the Forge beta.
And certainly far better than the -yoink- storm of a work shift I’m doing now. Due to finish at 11pm (45mins) but don’t think I’ll be out of here before 2am.
So we are now going into week 4 of season 2.
None of the season 1 issues have been fixed or attempted to be fixed.
Desync.
Anti Cheat.
Localised Server Settings.
All remain rampant. While new issues;
Challenges not registering/ xp not doubling if you leave LSS matches
Battle Rifle jamming.
Have become more regular occurrences.
We have no idea when the first ODST drop pod or/ fancy word for patch’s will come.
It was noted in the pre release season 2 video that cross core customisation would start to be introduced during season 2 with “helmets and visors” being the first items to be able to go cross core. And yet no mention of that in last weeks forum post update.
Would be nice to get some kinda road map or timeframe for when things are expected to be fixed. The population is starting to fall away again and we are still in month 1 of 6 with this current season.
Which is pretty alarming to be honest.
Season 1 saw a peak player population of 20 million concurrent players.
Season 2 has peaked at 22 thousand players.
0.2% of where it was at launch.
Right now it’s sitting at just over 8 thousand players.
This is concerning.
