Hello i am a owner of all dlc maps but its time to make it free for everyone please and i know for a fact it will boost the population and get the people that left an oppertunity to come back and see all the improvement 343 has done to this game a year later…

The DLC cannot be made free. Microsoft has a strict DLC policy that doesn’t allow DLC with tied achievements to be made free. There are some games that have free DLC with tied achievements (Gears of War 1 for example) but this was made free before the updated policy came into effect.

well they should just keep the dlc playlist even if its low population atlease it gives us the option to try and play… look at throwdown that population isnt high either but they keep it so whats the deal
I think it’s time to make the DLC required for BTB and TS (each respective DLC). There are different types of people.

People that will buy anything day 1 to support Halo and its future regardless of implementation

People that bought the maps fairly early and are disappointed that they can’t play them.

People that aren’t buying DLC b/c of it not showing up and the people from 2) that are complaining about it.

People that would buy it if it were working properly.

People that will NEVER buy DLC period regardless (not just Halo DLC)
DLC required will make 1-4 extremely happy. It also makes the game more enjoyable over time (the map variety is awesome, the ‘trial period’ they had was truly the most fun I’ve had).
See, ‘trial periods’ wont make the cheaper or on the fence people buy it. People don’t like temporary.
Making it required creates the best product for those who do play. It validates purchased content for many and assures the rest if you buy this DLC you WILL play it (and very likely enjoy it).
And at this point, if it’s not worth 10 bucks for someone to play a playlist… they should move to a new game. They truly are what is holding back the fun level of Halo currently (if everyone bought it… well…).
So if they can’t make it free… can they sale it at 75% off or something? Or is it set in stone non-sale prices? -Yoink!- is hurting Halo 4 so much more than they know. Their greed is actually costing them money :-/ and US, the customer, are missing out on fun.
The population will drop, at first, but not NEARLY as much as the ‘trail period’ b/c people will want to play. I mean it’s literally the people that play all day, without DLC, that cause the problem. They will buy DLC (again knowing that forever they will get to use it, the value is great if you play a lot…) or they will finally move on (I mean if the DLC system isn’t broken AND you choose not to buy it)…

Champions bundle is half off friday. That’s a start.
Everyone suggests making it free or on sale or making DLC playlists. Then others will say ‘doesn’t work b/c x,y&z’…
I don’t blame people for wanting to fix the system but band--Yoink!- are running low. It’s time to fix it at its core.
BTW, when the pop was low (again, it was SUPER low b/c temporary period of time) my connection was identical. So thinking that the low pop will break the game further is simply not true.
More people would comply than you realize with the permanent fix… AND, everyone that CHOOSES to join will enjoy the game so much more. It really is a win / win.
Support the game you want to play is one thing… but having the support ACTUALLY ‘support you’ in return (getting to use the product) is another. I don’t blame people for being mad (myself included) about not getting to use the content… so FIX it.

I just want to make sure that 343 understands that the ‘temporary’ requirement is not accurate data. The drop, obviously, was exaggerated. People would get it and be happy as clams if they knew it would add permanent value.
And I can’t stress enough how even with the exaggerated drop, the connection was still fine and the variety of maps were welcomed.
Over time, the people that play will enjoy the experience more. THAT is how you build a ‘long term’ player base. And the others will finally go play the other better games they are referring to (aka they love Halo and keep coming back).
Like I said, you have fan boys that have bought everything and cheapos that will never buy any DLC. But the real problem is this reasonable 80% of the player base who have bought them and been ‘ripped-off’ or haven’t bought yet b/c all the negative talks about getting ripped off. And I don’t blame them.
If the argument is that the game is already dead (very common one)… then would you rather have it enjoyable and justified for the 10-15k that play or have 15-20k mad people that say it’s dead, DLC is broken and game sucks (as they play, ironically).
So overlooked… It’s always easier to hear / react to the people that cry wolf (You know, the ones that CANT play b/c requirement… oh wait, yes they can, nm).

The Champions Bundle only works in half of the game, so it does not really matter to me what the price of it is.

343 don’t have control over the marketplace. In fact they have nothing whatsoever to do with it. Anything marketplace related is controlled by the XBL marketplace and Microsoft’s marketing teams. The marketing team decide on offers/promotions and the XBL marketplace team implement it.

Like it matters to anyone how old it is when you pretty much have as good a chance of playing the DLC maps if you DON’T have the DLC.
The XBOX 360 servers will probably go offline before MS allows for free Halo 4 DLC.
But if they do decide to make the DLC free, it’ll probably happen later on when the XB1 has become more standardized and the only working playlists for H4 will be BTB and SWAT with the population sizes of Team Throwback.
They won’t even make Halo 3 DLC free so why would they make Halo 4’s free?

Is the temporary population drop what scares them? Weed em out man. It just seems like a no brainer as far as ‘overall long term impact’ and ‘CUSTOMER (literally in this case with DLC) satisfaction’.
The people that bought the game (which can now be found online for 10-20 bucks get way more than that from campaign + SO alone. And if you bought it for MM… I wont even say it, just think about it (:
