It happened in Halo 3 now its in Halo 4 X10

Halo 3 is about rescuing Cortana from the clutches of the Gravemind But it becomes apparent that she is affected and throughout the game you have to listen to her ramblings and that got annoying. Halo 4 IS going to be about Cortanna slowly going mad and its even going to affect the relationship between her and 117. I personally cant stand the lil A.I. if shes going to be rambling througout the game and going crazy. This is just one thing im not looking forward to though. Whats everyone elses thoughts? It may not even bother some of ya.

So basically you hate an interesting plot point that will have a huge effect on Chief and could cascade into something far more terrifying because she MIGHT be annoying?

What do you think happens when people go mad?

Annoyed the heck out of me lol. Hope the Chief will tell her to I would be deeply appreciative if you would refrain from speaking…

It probably wont be like that, you’ll just hear her or see her on a hologram projector.

That wasn’t even her. It was the Gravemind demoralizing Chief the entire game.

I can understand how its a huge part of a deeper plot but still thats like if Guse had turned on Maverick and turned out to be a Russian Spy, yeah it makes it a deeper plot then if there just two good buddies but id prefer the more simple plot that their just two good buddies through thick and thin. Just like with Cortanna id rather see everything else fall apart but one thing always be consistent that no matter what, Cortanna would be the one thing you could trust and know was going to be with you everystep of the way to the end.

I can see that happening in Halo 5

That’s what makes it interesting.
Geez, it’s like people want a Dr. Seuss book or something.

That’s a ridiculous plot idea. Cortana is going on 7 years old and due for rampancy soon. Not only that but she had previously been subjugated to torture by the Gravemind. I’m sure she will be helpful, but there is a reason rampant AIs are typically destroyed, they become a threat to humans.

I’m telling you, Halo 4 is going to be about Cortana on the rag.

I love cortana, I hope we can save her

Who refers to Master Chief as 117? I’ve never seen that.

I like it. It seems it will be completely different as they are constantly interacting, rather than being separated and encountering random visions.

If the rambling was in the same way Halo 3 did it, then yes. I would be bothered by those missions that had Cortana rambling in that way. All of those missions in Halo 3 were the ones I didn’t like the most.

Story-wise, it makes sense. But I just hope that they don’t do it in the same fashion that Halo 3 did it. Because it was just ANNOYING.

IF Halo 4 is going to have Precursors returning to wipe out the rest of the remaining hidden Forrerunners and the truth is revealed about why they were at war and HOW the Forerunners won and how Humanity once defeated the flood then thats plenty deep enough where a rampant A.I. isnt what must be done for a deeper experiance. I do understand the life span of an A.I. though is 7 years and how thatd affect the cannon BUT with Forerunner Tech it WOULD have been possable to keep the A.I. from going mad. 343 Guilty spark isnt/wasnt mad, he is an A.I. that follows his programming.–All Purely Speculation

Yeah, but in Top Gun, Goose died…

Maybe there is an AA in campaign that let’s you ignore her or tell her to shutup lol.

The part that made it horrible in Halo 3 was that it took up the whole screen and slowed you down. If they can do it in a way that doesn’t interrupt gameplay than it would be much better.

Hmm? Did you see the Anniversary Terminals? Spark was going rampant. There is several scenes where Spark will randomly flash red, and he will get stuck on some words. He is well aware that he is going rampant. The fact that he is very lonely on the ring appears to be a big cause for his decent into rampancy.

He wasn’t neccesarily going mad, but he was definetly being affected.

That’s what the mute button is for.

No, no we can’t. She has a 7 year lifespan which she has expended. She will inevitably have to die. I don’t want to see any miraculous ways of saving her as this would detract from the emotional journey the Chief will be going through with Cortana and make the story seem quite childish in the sense that the protagonists have to survive.

The madness won’t bother me, as long as it is integrated into the story well; otherwise it will probably be more of a nonsense.
