Issues with the engine

So as we all know, Halo 5’s graphic fidelity isn’t the greatest. Technically the game runs at 60fps but not everything else does. I’m sure you’ve all noticed that models will lower in FPS as they move farther away. The game also runs at not quite 1080p, around 980p I believe. Halo 5’s engine is a slightly modified version of the Halo 4 engine. Now I don’t know everything about game engines but I find it weird that the Halo 4 port in the Xbox One is able to run at 1080p 60fps on the Halo 4 engine yet Halo 5 can’t using what is supposedly the same engine. Again I don’t know everything so I’m sorry if this analysis is wrong but it’s just something that botherd me.

the reasoning is because halo 5 is not using a modified Halo 4 engine, many parts of the engine were scrapped and rebuilt from the ground up, Halo 5 is basically on a new engine. That and Halo 4 was a 360 game, so the next gen console would have an easier time running it I assume…

I noticed that the animations drop frames a little further away than before since the update. Even less frames than before.

Sometimes I don’t think it drops below 30fps until extremely far away, so it looks like they’ve been working on it. It was just plain choppy before. Like, Planetside 2 bad.
