Among other problems with the game, this tends to peeve me the most. For whatever reason that this game has, splattering is among one of the most frustrating things that this game has to offer. In Halo 3, the physics behind how you splattered somebody was perfect, especially in some situations where it is done to comedic effect if you used the Wraith or a Chopper’s boost. Back then, you had to build up momentum with a vehicle before you could splatter somebody, and it was always so satisfying to have it done when you got that rare mongoose splatter. Now, especially with the ghost, the moment you hit the boost, you can splatter a person immediately. Even a scorpion tank can splatter a person, and that is an absurdity when I usually have this happen when I am jumping on top of the vehicle to board it. This makes it not only embarrassing, but it gives you that feeling of absurd morbidity for being splattered by something so slow, which brings me to my next point.
Because the splattering is so apparent, the touching distances of boarding does not help matters either. Unless you are behind a vehicle, or if has not stopped altogether, then the boarding prompt does not even show up until its too late and you are already dead. I constantly hold onto the ‘X’ button as soon as I close in, thinking I can board another players ghost, but nothing turns up, and before I know it, the ghost starts moving to the side and I’m splattered, getting that wtf feeling in the pit of my stomach. Is this going to be an issue that 343 will address?
Let’s talk about boarding. Halo 5 is a great game, I love it, but the Mantis… oh the Mantis. Why can you board it from the front? Why can you board it from the legs? This needs to be addressed, seeing how the mantis is fairly uncommon in Halo 5 and when it is encountered is is taken out ridiculously quickly.

Too bad the Mantis can’t sprint so it could splatter people that it happens to run across.

I feel the mantis could do with a thrust kind of ability, something to make it more, interesting to fight
Mantis should be able to fly.

get a friend to spawn in a banshee, get on top of the banshee with the mantis… there you have a flying mantis

Lol!
I can’t get on board with the boarding, I feel that it’s really easy to be boarded on those cluttered Warzone maps. I guess that’s an issue with map design. I tend to be “campy” with vehicles just to avoid an enemy pileup on my bonnet, and that doesn’t make vehicular combat feel all that special.
The splatter system needs some adjusting for sure, you don’t feel like a Spartan when a teammate destroys you traveling at 3km while you were trying to jump in his damn turret.
