Issues With Radar? Read This.

I don’t understand the issue people experience with radar. I have no issues with range at all.

I am wondering if people don’t know about the advanced radar perk at Req 5. Once unlocked and equipped, you will NEVER show up on radar as long as you don’t sprint or use an un-silenced weapon. It’s deadly and very reliable for flanking. It also increased radar range dramatically, allows you to see enemies more effectively (including crouching enemy) and allows for use while ADS.

If you are experiencing people that know where you are, can see you further than you can see them, or have enemy that don’t show up on radar, they are more than likely using Advanced Sensors.

Advanced Sensors

  • Rarity: Common - Motion Tracker is now compatible with Smart-Link, and both range and sensitivity are enhanced and harder to detect on enemy sTrackers.

Hope this helps.

But the perk only lasts till you die right? It doesn’t stay with you the whole match. Right?

I think most of the issues are with the Radar as a core mechanic, not as a REQ.

Most seems to be aimed at the fact that, traditionally, the radar has a radius of 25m, and is seemingly shorter in Halo 5.

They shortened it to 18m, which, ironically marks an (unintentional?) Bungie 7 reference.

A lot of people have mixed thoughts about the Motion Sensor anyway. Some say Arena is too small for the 25m Sensor, others say they should enlarge it and keep it by Halo’s standards or the least, 25m for Warzone.

Arena is 18m which is too small. They need the arrows back showing which level people are on. Or honestly just remove it, its useless as is IMO.

Im SR22 but haven’t gotten that yet. Is it a rank related upgrade or random REQ?

I got mine out of a Silver REQ pack. They’re very rare to get based on the chances of armor, helm, and weapon drops. It’s like 10 to 600 chance or something like that. I got lucky.

The perk lasts the remainder of the match. It’s like the armor mods in HALO 4 except you have to get REQ level 5 to equip it.

I like the limited radar, it makes me actually look up more often. I cant wait to get an Armor Mod Req

ah okay, thanks for the info.

it’s about the arena not warzone dude

Advanced sensors are a godsend. Every Warzone match feels like a chore until I hit REQ 5. Equip my silenced BR and I’m never on radar again! At REQ 6 I equip my silenced SMG and boom! It’s amazing.

I don’t think it would hurt to increase the motion sensor range back to 25m. 18m is too short a radius.

Wait, people are upset over the Arena and it’s radar range? The arena maps are tiny! Increase it any further and you should just remove it altogether since you can see the entire maps movement! Where’s the fun in that?

Side note: for the time I have spent in Arena, I still don’t see an issue.

Read my recent thread on Radar issues. It is broken, or it fundamentally changed in the way it finds and displays players. Rapid blinking, dots mysteriously disappearing when players are right in front of you, and multiple dots for the same person have all happened numerous times for me. It’s buggy as anything I’ve ever seen.

Personally, I think the radar is perfect. Range is neither gigantic so enemies see you coming from too far away and nor too small you don’t have time to defend yourself if someone gets close.

Also remember it never was a radar. It’s a “motion tracker”. So if someone crouches and stays still or walks slowly, you’ll probably have a hard time finding them with your “radar”. Sound is a better cue for enemies approaching you.

Seriously? It’s impossible to have time to defend yourself if someone is behind you suddenly. Quick kill times, poor aim acceleration, and short radar range that occasionally doesn’t display dots until they are within melee range…

I have yet to experience any of this to be honest. This isn’t Destiny where the minimap always displays Red when a player is standing and blinks when they’re crouched. If they’re immobile, they don’t show. If they sprint up to you and charge, you’re not going to see them coming. That’s the point of the sprint/charge.

I have seen the issues with aim acceleration. But I have adapted. I have set my aim sensitivity to 1 and I have no issues with killing. If the target bunny hops like a -Yoink-, then I have a slight issue, but nothing a grenade can’t fix. More often than not Ill be facing my target and won’t need to snap 180 to engage them. If that happens, kudos to them for flanking me.
