Issues with matchmaking

"Halo Reach server is unavailable this time. Please try again later." That’s what it says whenever I would go to Matchmaking. I can play the Custom games with my friends fine, but Matchmaking is messed up for me like that. My friend borrowed the CD and he was able to play with it online just fine as well.

It’s been going on like this for almost a month now since I have signed up for Xbox Live Gold.

It was ok the last time I used it but then it started to get messed up like that. Every other games that I have are just fine when I played them online and it seems like this issue is just isolated to Halo Reach.

I don’t think I’ve been banned from it (because it doesn’t say so anywhere I look)and I don’t think I’ve done something bad to make it like that. I’ve contacted the Xbox support and we’ve done everything from erasing the cache to deleting the folders from the storage but it still stays the same.

I’ve read around and it turns out that other users are having this kind of problem as well, BUT so far I’ve never really found some real solution to this issue since (at least in the forums I’ve read) they never really have a definite answer for it.

So here I am asking the question for myself: How do you fix something like this? Answers/Solutions will be greatly appreciated since it has taken up a good deal of my time.
