Issues with 3d mode

I’ve been playing CEA in 3d (awesome BTW), but I have noticed that the game suffers from a few issues with the video & letterbox frames. The intro video, for example in the left eye shows up very bright & vivid, while the right eye shows up very dark, but since I’m watching on a passive screen I might just be seeing a ghost image from the left eye and the right doesn’t actually have a picture. The second issue is with the letterbox boarders during cut-scenes and level introductions (Flawless Cowboy, I would have been your daddy, etc.)…one eye they are the proper black and the other is a washed-out gray. I have also seen the washing-out happen occasionally mid level, though usually pausing the game or activating/deactivating 3d tends to fix this temporarily. Anyway, anyone else with a 3dtv notice these issues?

edit: I have also noticed there have been a few places mid game where an odd occurrence happens where when you walk up to a new section (this happened mostly going through doors in assault on the control room) one eye will render as normal, but the other eye will show missing textures…doors missing, etc. It’s pretty odd, but once you get a new section of the map loaded it starts rendering fine again.

What year is your Xbox? Mine is a 2007 Halo 3 model. After some research, I found that the 3d won’t work because the 3d HDMI (1.4 standard) was not introduced until 2009. That means that any Xbox 360 built prior to mid-year 2009 will not have 3d capability.

After more research, apparently the HDMI standard is firmware based so as long as the Xbox is up-to-date, it should work.

I am doing more research into this.

My Xbox is an S model…just got it this year.

Must be your TV, I have a Sony Passive 3D, never have that problem. I’ve also played it on my friends Samsung passive, still no problem.

Xbox is the old Elite Model, with 120GB. Using HDMI.

Okay, finally fixed it! I had to have my Xbox 360 set to 720p output! I had to go into my HDTV settings and switch from 1080p (what my TV is) to 720p (which is what the game is in) and now it works! Woohoo! 3D Halo for me!
