Issues finding games in certain playlists?

Hi, just wondering if anyone knew anything that would be causing issues finding games in playlists?
IE. I have found 1 Btb game in the month the game has been out, which was about 20minutes ago… which was glorious, in saying that in the past i have searched for ages without finding anything (Hours)

also halo 2 classic doesn’t seem to want to give me a game either.
Team slayer and Anniversary are both fine, games withing ~5 minutes most times.
Yet to try play the other ones.

Many people have had the same issue, including myself. I was completely unable to find games in halo 2 classic, never searched BTB.

The solution that many people have had success with including myself: Make a new gamertag or use a different gamertag and you should be able to find games in playlists that haven’t been working. As long as you have a gold account and your xbox is set as your home xbox, you get gold account privileges with all other gamertags on the xbox, meaning you can play multiplayer games with any gamertag. Luckily the last patch made this issue go away for me.

Haven’t heard anything from 343 about this being a known issue for some people. Reading this forum and reddit, its obvious this is not an isolated issue, and most people are having trouble with BTB mostly, and sometimes Halo 2 classic.

Gonna bump my old post Having ALOT of issues finding anyone in halo 2 classic playlist Or Big team (classic seems worse which is odd given it was such a played game.), It’s fine for halo CE, Team slayer, H2Anni (only ones i really play)

Having trouble in BTB also. Sometimes it will get up to 13 people and then nothing, and people start backing out. But when it does get a game going, it works great, the game is smooth, no lag at all.

i have had the most success in H2 Classic. I have been able to find a match in any playlists though since 2 patches ago. I find big team and games with vehicles in general to be incredibly boring so idk about that playlist…

I must be one of the fortunate ones - I don’t have significant issues connecting to H2A, Slayer, BTB, or H3 (the only playlists i’ve tried). And by significant, I mean something a force restart of the game doesn’t fix.

I go in, if it doesn’t connect to a players and show me a name within 1 minute, I force quit the game, and go back in and it has worked every time on the second try. Then I can play a number of games, and if at any point it takes more than 1 minute, I force quit/restart and it starts working again.

  • I have NEVER successfully connected to a game if it didn’t list at least one player after 60 seconds of looking regardless of if it says Joining, Connecting, or Searching or whatever.- I have very rarely ever successfully started a game if within an additional 60 seconds from the time the first player is found, all the remaining players are found. So if anything takes more than a minute, I just force quit and go back in and it works on the second try.basically 1min is my cutoff time to do a force quit/restart.

I have also noticed it almost never works if the xbox goes to sleep with halo running, or if i switch out to another app and back to halo (except TV). In all cases, a force quit/restart and its working again.
