Just like last time. My Xbox slows down when downloading the update, opening apps takes forever until they crash. I can’t do anything other than watch the % stuck at 0 fearing it will re-download the whole game…
Anyone having issues?

Same here. It started off at 0% and just said “updating” with no stats. It took 15 minutes to register but I was able to pause the installation. Once paused I just hit resume and now it’s working perfectly. 5% done and counting!
Sounds like deleting it and doing a hard reset might help or leave it for a few hours, hopefully it fix’s itself.

Pause the update. You may have to do it a couple of times before it finally says paused. Continue the update and it should download the patch.
Don’t restart your Xbox unless you want to reinstall the whole game, usually the game will update 10-15 min after you started the update.

If you delete it or do a hard reset then you’ll mess up the update have to reinstall the whole game.

Yeah I had to spam the pause button a lot. I left it alone for 10 minutes and hit it again. 5 minutes later I came back and saw it finally paused. I just hit resume and it was on its way. I just passed 30% now.

Yep I’ve mentioned this on another thread recently, seems to have something to do with a tweet someone posted about it. Sounds like might be best to wait before updating the game when I get onto my X1.
I feel stupid for asking, but how do you pause? Game has been at 0% since the patch launched.
I though people would get this by now. Simply put the Xbox isn’t powerful enough to download and run software at the same time. Have patience and all will be well

If that’s true then hopefully the Xbox One X means I never have to deal with this problem when HW2 updates with the 4k texture update.

Lol it’s fine. In the Games & Apps updates menu hit the menu (start) button over the Halo Wars 2 update. It should show Pause Update as an option. It will probably take 15-20 minutes for it to actually pause but it’ll be worth the wait. After that just click resume and you’re all set.

That tweet just said the same thing they’ve been saying since launch: don’t delete and don’t restart. Both are bad ideas. Pausing though has worked for me the last 3 updates including this one.

I wasn’t aware they were saying this but I think I’ve heard similar issues with other games on the X1.

Guys just don’t touch your download even if it stays on 0% it’s actually downloading in the background.
