Issue with the Yokai Helmet

That’s… Probably not going to change. Locus, and this derivative, are fairly beloved helmet designs. So, very much just kind of… Shouting at the wind, I guess.

Nah, not true. Check Halo: Reach, the visor is demonstrably made of a transparent material. The solid nature of the visors comes from polarization - and in ODST we see the visors are capale of rapid (de)polarization at the user’s will.

I have not bought any items for the Samurai armor, because I think the armor looks really stupid

Which is why Emile can still see through his helmet, he didn’t add more material, he removed some

Then why are you complaining?

Yes, they can be see through if the camera fails but the main viewpoint for the Spartans helmets are cameras.
At least, that’s what I’ve read, I could be wrong though

Mh, in Fall of Reach (or Ghosts of Onyx? It’s been years), Chief Mendez mentions how cameras fail, eyes don’t.

So I figure those visors are exactly what they look like.

I wish I could share a gif of me slamming my head into a desk over and over, because that’s what this feels like

I am CRITIQUING their DESIGN CHOICES in a microtransaction business model

3 of the 4 Yoroi helmets (Chonmage, Hikeshi and Kabuto) have a visor so would use the visor customisation.

The Yokai helmet certainly is unusual. Without a visor I’m not sure how the Spartan sees exactly…

Edit: I see someone explained it a few posts earlier actually

they just follow the waypoints their AI tells them about

I haven’t read ghosts of Onyx, but I read Fall of reach recently and I distinctly remember him saying that.

Well, then there you go.

Some helmets just don’t have visors. Deal, I guess.

Not every helmet has a Visor OP.

Halo Reach did something similar with the Gungnir Helmet being literally just a tiny camera lens.

But Halo 4 is where helmets without visors became a thing.

  • C.I.O.
  • Engineer
  • Gungnir
  • Infiltrator
  • Locus (which Yokai is based off of)
  • Protector
  • Vanguard
  • Venator

And then Halo 5 went on to modify some of the Halo 4 helmets to remove visors or include visors in a small form, while still adding in helmets that don’t have a visor.

  • Pioneer
  • Hellcat
  • Mako
  • Recluse
  • Tracer

I get all that, but they don’t expect people to buy those helmets

What…just what? Great topic, troll.

Hence why they modified Gungnir for the Mark VII Armor Core to have the camera-lens be an attachment on the actual helmet itself. The Stormfall Helmet now has two massive eye-holes with the option of a camera-lense armor plating attachment on the helmet to be applied.

Just dont use the helmet lmao

I actually like the Helm the way it is. It gives a ‘magic’ feeling to an advanced tech game. “How can one see with a Helm with no Visor!?” Answer: “MAGIC, SON!”. Also I would like to add the Judgment Helm Armor effect compliments the Helm really well in the game. Almost like it was made for it.

Probably through sensors that are subtle?

The grey lines in the image above probably scan and provide an image over a screen for your eyes, similar to how a VR uses cameras to record your surroundings so when you are not in a game you can walk around unhindered?

It would make for a great helmet arguably, since a Visor is a weak-point that can be shattered whereas having full-armor all around your head would be a clear advantage.

EDIT -
Ironic to my above point, the opposite design standard in Halo 5 occoured when it came to some helmets like Seeker, Vector, and Breaker; where the visor when in random spots and provided little-to-no armor to your helmet. Heck, Breaker even went as far to put a small visor on the BACK OF YOUR HEAD WHILE MAKING THE VISOR A HEADBAND AS WELL???

How is this trolling? Literally all anyone has done since well before launch was discuss the flaws with a microtransaction model where you buy all the armors and coatings etc. Now all of a sudden it’s trolling to bring up a glaring issue.

Either people are shilling hard or they’ve lost the plot

@RamboBambiBambo

Yo. How in the world did the player get a yellow core color for the Armor?
