So, every Silver Req pack is supposed to give you 2 permanent unlocks, be it helmets, armors, visors, weapon skins, commendation things, etc.
But the last SEVERAL Silver Req packs I got had 0-1 permanent unlocks. Sounds like I have just too much stuff unlocked already, you say; I have 5 TOTAL helmets, 4 armors, a handful of commendations and a couple of icons (Under 5% total). I don’t know why my Silver packs aren’t giving me permanent unlocks. As always, when I contact Xbox Help, they literally never reply, and one person who was trying to help couldn’t understand that I’m a low level with extremely few items unlocked, and there’s no way I shouldn’t be getting the guaranteed 2 permanent item unlocks for Silvers.
343 do you have anything to say about this? Maybe it’s a glitch? I have no idea and nobody will help me.
Also somewhat unrelated, I was trying to unlock /literally a single helmet/ on my friend’s account (since he has to play on PC and doesn’t have an Xbox One) and I opened about 40 packs today with literally not a single helmet in sight. I’m still pretty fuming mad about it.
I don’t really understand what the problem is. You only have 5% of total permanents unlocked, and when you open Silver packs, you get 0-1 permanent. What else do you get? Give me an example of the last Silver pack you opened that seemed problematic; tell me everything you got out of the pack.
The other thing about not getting helmets on your friend’s account sounds like more bad RNG luck than an actual problem.

The last one I opened that I can remember pretty clearly is getting the Song of War certification, about 5 of the Song of War guns, a couple of warthogs and ghosts, and some gamble assist and arena boosts. It only had one unlock, being the Song of War weapon certification, when it can’t be possible at this point to have unlocked all of the possible permanent unlocks for silver tier.
And yeah, the other one WAS totally RNG but I’m still so pissed at how many hours I put into it to literally be kicked in the shins the whole time and not get him even one cosmetic helmet.
We’re also not unlocking the Master Chief helmets from completing the “Start your Journey” and “Cairo Station” achievements in the MCC, which are supposed to be guaranteed helmet unlocks.

Next time you open a Silver pack that only gives you 1 permanent unlock, take a screen cap. Then post the picture here (upload to imgur and post the link), along with a screen cap of your REQ collection. Could be helpful in showing that you indeed are having an issue.

Welcome to the wonders of random loot drops. It’s working as intended, so it isn’t a support issue; if you hate the system, you should voice that you’d like to see REQs gone from the next game in the Halo Infinite subforum.

There is a fix for this. Go back to MCC, change a customization item (banner, emblem, multiplayer armor, etc.). Make sure the game saves the change. Might help to also play a multiplayer game and open the Halo Channel app. After all that, go back to Halo 5 and check your REQ collection for the MCC unlocks.

Alright I’ll be sure to do that the next time it inevitably happens because I seem to have a knack for breaking every game I play.
