So I know the REQ system is far from perfect, but it’s all been tolerable until tonight. Tonight I’ve tried opening a gold and silver, respectively. Both times I did the game hard crashed, and I was not refunded my points or given anything that would indicate otherwise. I opened another silver this evening. No problem. So the issue comes and goes. I know the REQs have been acting unusual as of late and may having something to do with. But this just isn’t tolerable.
If the game ever crashes when opening a pack or tells yo that it’s already been opened, don’t worry. IN these cases you skip the opening animation of the pack and the items are delivered straight into your REQ inventory. You can hard reset your console to see the new items or check your REQ inventory here on Waypoint

It’s when I buy them. I can’t skip it then. When it crashes I checked my REQs, nothing. Even a game later, nodda. This is incredibly annoying. It’s only when I buy them. Earned ones are just fine.

Sometimes, you have to restart your xbox. You can check your req’s here on WP.
On rare occasions, a REQ Pack will open without displaying the full animation. If this happens, the items will still be placed directly into your inventory. If the items are not immediately visible in your inventory, please perform a hard reset on your Xbox One and the items should be there. Additionally, if you’d like to check from your computer, the items should be in your inventory here on Halo Waypoint as well. We apologize for the inconvenience!
Half of the time my REQ packs don’t even work. They either won’t open and then disappear, claiming that I’ve opened them, or they won’t appear at all. Ridiculous. I expected so much more from Halo 5.
Ok… Nobody is getting the part I’m saying, tell me where I lose you…The animation has nothing to do with it… I go to BUY a pack. The game then crashes and no objects are deposited. Ever… This happened twice last night. Money is involved.
I don’t have an answer to your question, but have you tried backing out to the main menu before messing with the REQ store?
