Hi Team,
I purchased a copy of HALO 5 recently and when I opened the package is noticed the game looked rather strange, it was simply a Precision DVD-R disk with no company branding on it. Inside the game package did not have other company material or information sheets. Is this normal and what I should have expected?
When I placed the -Yoink- into my XBOX nothing happened and my console could not find the game to start the download. This is my first experience with HALO so I’m not sure what to expect but something seems off. Please assist.
All my best

Hey OP, where exactly did you purchase the game from? Doesn’t sound like it’s a legitimate i’m afraid, so you might need to contact the retailer your purchased the game from and see if they can help
That’s what I’m scared of. I bought it from WalMart in a sealed package.
Does Walmart even sell used games? Huh… or even copied games? I would’ve figured they’d check that out

You got scammed dude. I don’t even know if the xbox one can even play DVD recordable disc. And no Xbox, PS4 or switch game will be on a DVDR disc. Did the game come with a Halo 5 disc case cover? Did you buy it going into a Walmart store or did you buy it from Walmart Online? Here are some things that might of happened.
IF YOU BOUGHT A REFURBISHED HALO 5
- Chances are you bought a refurbished game and Walmart didn’t bother to check it. I don’t think Walmart buys used games like GameStop, however, Walmart does give out refunds with no warranty on almost anything. Someone could had bought a copy of Halo 5, replaced the disc with the DVD-R and gotten a full refund. This way he gets a free copy of Halo 5. And the workers at Walmart that is getting minimum wage just shake the case to see if there is a disk in it instead of opening the case because they dont give a poop about their job. Thus they put it back on sale for a lower price. This is what you call a refurbished item and most of the time they sell for a little less too. This scenario could also happen if you buy it online but I think there are more rules to check the item on the online side of Walmart. They also get paid more than minimum wage so there is more determination to do the job right in order to keep their jobs. There is a simple fix to this. If you bought it from a Walmart online then go email Walmart and tell them you got a fake disc from their website. They should give you either a real copy of Halo 5 or your money back. And then they will track the person or bought the game before you. If you bought it from a store you should go to the same store and do the same thing. Make sure you got your receipt (let’s hope you didn’t throw it out)
IF YOU BOUGHT IT FROM A WALMART ONLINE
If it didn’t come with a Halo 5 case cover then chances are it was a mistake in shipping on Walmarts part. Just contact them tell them what happened and they will give you your money back or a halo 5 game.
YOU BOUGHT IT FROM A FAKE WALMART WEBSITE ONLINE
I doubt this is the case but it does happen sometimes but it’s really rare. There are scammers out there that will make a whole Walmart website that will look just like the official website just to scam people of their money. The reason why I don’t think this is the case is that I don’t think they would have sent you anything at all if it was a fake website.
Sounds like you got ripped off on your purchase. Make sure you buy from a reliable source before you do so.
