I wasn’t in that game by the way, but I did experience the power of the Gauss Hog on my own. This particular vehicle had never been available in Matchmaking before for reasons that weren’t so obvious to me, until now.
It’s an instant 1-hit kill across the map gun, even if the enemy is on a vehicle. It can single handedly take out the entire enemy team within seconds (much like the Banshee), but it’s much harder to teamshoot.
For instance, you can predict an incoming Banshee and Armor Lock yourself; or Jetpack your way up, far from its green cannon; or even Evade the splash damage.
But with the Gauss Hog, as soon as you start hitting the first shots you’re dead. If you pop your head out you’re dead. Not even teamshooting is effective against it, since the gunner can easily turn his camera and spam the trigger, killing everyone within a matter of seconds.
Yes, I know that everyone’s on the defensive side of things right now, and I expect responses like “It’s a new game”, or “You always complain”. I just want to discuss the topic. If you don’t want to, feel free to play a couple Anniversary BTB matches to see what I’m talking about. I just want to give some input on this issue, since I’d hate Breakneck to become the next Breakpoint (aka a Vehicle spawnfest)](http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/GameStats.aspx?gameid=851736699&player=ICanHasRofl)

Yes, I’m aware of its Forge World related bugs. But the vehicle is still too strong/fast.
You don’t have much of a chance against it. And Halo 2 plays differently from Reach. Reach’s Gauss Hog has more splash damage too.

Well it won’t be going out of the Anniversary version, that’s a fact, unless they don’t want to stay true.
Although I can see it being taken out of Breakneck, the Gauss always was a bit over the top.

Halo 2 wasn’t all that balanced if you ask me.
A Reach version of Breakneck with AAs and no Gauss Hog would be nice, much like the removal of the Banshee on Breakpoint.
