Isn't it a shame?

When the likes of both Far Cry 3 and 4 have a fully offline usable map creator with option to also include AI

I’m not a Far Cry fan personally but they certainly go out of their way when thinking of all those that want this sort stuff. And maybe that’s not a big percentage even but they do it anyway. It’s frustrating we never get this stuff yet other games clearly have no problem implementing it

And then there is the state of Forge which is actually bloody excellent bar the fact that you can’t retain any of your creations locally thanks to the offline lockout and of course there’s still no means to populate these spaces with AI. The Halo sandbox has always been the best and fans have cried out for the tools to make their own scenarios but it seems our cries simply aren’t worth -Yoink-. I get a bit sick of it personally because there’s clearly a lot of people that would appreciate this

AI in forge would be cool. How neat would it be to create your own firefight maps? That would be awesome. I have no idea how difficult it would be to implement, though.

Yeah it’s impossible apparently unless you’re Far Cry

Don’t forget Doom. Its map editor allows you to place AI and make single player missions.

The thing is tho, halos forge is on a whole different level in creativity design even with it still lacking some of these things. A.I. In forge has been wanted by both the community and the devs but it simply isn’t obtainable at this moment unless you want to sacrifice other aspects. It dates all the way back to h3.

The trouble is they’re giving us nothing and I think it’s unlikely they’ve even looked at the possibility. If this was demanded by the majority of it’s fans then I’m confident it they’d solve pretty quickly

Timesplitters 2 is my favorite game ever. It was released in 2002, and features AI and objective triggers in it’s map builder.

Well exactly. It may be that there’s more to getting this right with a Halo game but as I say, if the majority of people demanded it then it would be made possible very quickly

I’d happily play at 30 fps with split-screen and forgable AI over 60 FPS with “dedicated servers” any day.

Why not 60 frames with split screen and dedicated servers with A.I?

Anyways, the frames don’t have anything to do with A.I., even bungie never implemented this stuff besides split screen. It’s merely on a matter of priorities and resources, one thing bungie for sure did better than 343 does now but in other areas.

I honestly doubt we are going to get the level of place able AI that you can script, edit values etc on a console anytime soon. You honestly would need a map editor/editing kit for that, on PC. So unless they release their tools they used to make the game, which is extremely doubtful, it’s not going to happen. Even if they did do so, you most likely wouldn’t be able to play it on an Xbox easily, as the maps would be unsigned. Also, if they did release their tools, they would probably pull a halo 2 vista, and have half the editing kit locked.

This is why you don’t have Warzone custon games as well, because of the AI. They gave a technical reason why they can’t do it, which was good enough for me.

Because this is 343i we’re talking about not Nintendo, Tellatale, EA (lol no), Mojang, ect… besides Halo 5’s dedicated servers are a joke.
