> Okay hear me out, I believe that Isabel from halo wars 2 is actually evil or had been working for Atriox. In the cutscene where she is hacking the weapon systems of the covenant cruiser she hears the civilian voices calling out for her. She reacts disgusted and conflicted but every now and then I heard a civilians voice ask her “why Isabel” as if she was the cause of their death.
Not really, no. The Dialogue is as follows:
Male Scientist #1: “ISABEL!”
Female Scientist #1: “What do we do?”
Female Scientist #2: “Oh my God!”
Male Scientist #2: “No, please no!”
Female Scientist #1: “No! Isabel, what do we do?!”
Isabel’s expression is that of pain. The Banished came and killed everyone that she lived and worked with. Her grief is what fueled her to absolutely erradicate the Banshed down on the Ark’s surface using the excavation beam of the Enduring Conviction.
> Then in the second last mission Atriox is talking to captain cutter, telling him to leave now and he won’t hunt them down. However he mentions that the only reason he has gotten this far is because of betrayal?
Treachery.
Atriox: “Captain. Your troops fight with a tenacity that almost matches my Jiralhanae brothers. I’m impressed. You and I are survivors, and I respect that, so I offer you a boon. Take your troops, take your ship, leave now, and I will not hunt you down.”
Captain Cutter: “Did you make the same offer to the people you slaughtered at that outpost? We’re not going anywhere. We’re only talking right now because you know I’m going to take this Ark from you.”
Atriox: Hahahaha! Luck! Treachery! These are the only reasons you still live, Cutter! Very well. I admire your spirit, but you’ve just sentenced your little ship to oblivion!
Basically Atriox is taunting Cutter, saying that he didn’t get this far on skill and prowess in command of battle, but through sheer dumb luck and underhanded tactics.

> However this game make anderson seem to knowledgeable about the rings, ark and what they all do.
Not entirely. Professor Anders studied under and adjacent to Dr. Halsey, who was and still is the expert on Forerunners. Anders, as a result, is quite knowledgeable of them as well. However she didn’t start off knowing everything about Installation 00 and the Rings. She spent time in the systems, interfacing with them and learning about them. Even taking considerable time learning how the Ring worked, and even hoping that what she thought would work did. What’s more, there’s also the element of a geas. John-117 somehow “knew” how Forerunner tech worked in Halo: CE, despite having never encountered it. Why is it so unthinkable for Anders to benefit from the same?
