So I read an other thread here and a few people feel that warzone is just going to replace BTB. I can see why 343 would want to do it (because of the micro transactions), but I mean the gameplay just is not the same. Map control is non existent and if your getting your *** handed to you, all you have to do is call in a legendary/mythic weapon and just take over. I really hope they arent planning on replacing big team with warzone. I have been playing big team non stop since it has been released, and really moved away from warzone (unless some people from the company are playing, but even then I just dont enjoy it anymore). Big Team really needs to get some original maps and not be all forge. I really hope 343 is just showing what the new forge is capable of doing and have a plan to release some original BTB maps with future releases. Anyone else love Big Team and feel kind of worried about where it’s going right now?
They recently just added BTB, I highly doubt they will take it away. I enjoy big team, but I don’t like any of the maps that were released, so I am sticking with Warzone.
Map control isn’t important. You only need the middle base to win.
As already mentioned, they JUST added BTB. Warzone is not replacing BTB.
I was excited for BTB until they removed JIP. So now I stick mainly with Warzone. Honestly though, I absolutely LOVE Warzone. By far my most favorite Halo mp mode ever. And that is coming from someone that has been playing BTB for over 10 years. Looking forward to new Warzone maps each month.

Yea… The whole butt-hurt forum posts about how JIP is ruining Halo… It worked great for BTB. Now it’s 50/50 whether half my team quits or not in BTB. Frustrating…

That is why I just avoid BTB now and stick with Warzone. I might play BTB once in a while but it wont be very much. Until 343 dials in the quitting penalties in Arena, you most likely will never maintain a full BTB game. Luckily Warzone has JIP.

JIP will return in BTB. Maybe you have already read it but it is on the last community update, the sneak peek for December

Its really crazy how H4 had JIP and EVERYONE complained about it (I didnt really have a big issue with it most of the time), but now that it’s not in H5 people are avoiding BTB because it DOESNT have JIP. I dont really know how I stand on the penalty situation, should the ban be harsher or is their another way to make people stay in the game. I dont remember the older halos having a problem like this, and I dont actually think it’s the game at all. I just think 10-12 years ago people just played games differently. Now days kids get butt hurt if they go on a death streak and leave, or even if they dont get the power weapon off the start. In the LAN/early XBL days I would constantly try to figure out how to beat people to the weapons, or if I’m getting smashed, how the hell do I beat this guy. If I beat him once in a match I would be so pumped, and put those tactics towards the next match.
i am still concerned for BTB though. I really feel like it was just an after thought and they’re just throwing it together with some forge maps to say “yeah we have BTB”. I know it was just released but I feel if it was planned from the beginning they should of had some original maps in line. Hopefully they have some in the future, because BTB is and will always be my favorite game type. I played the living HELL out if it in H4, and all previous games (it was so much fun), and I think H5 could be even better now because of how balanced the game is.
afterthought: Even if they used some of the warzone maps for BTB I would be ok with that.
haha no they just added in BTB, it isn’t replacing it, in fact that was the conversation before BTB was added.
I think it’s a reasonable conclusion to draw that 343/MS really, really wanted warzone to replace BTB.
They recently added BTB and it feels like it did in previous games. Warzone is basically A Big Big Team Battle with AI bosses and bases. They are very different.
I guess with some new maps I’d feel differently about it…time will tell.

Yes, but at the cost of rank. BTB is going to be the first playlist to go social, which is definitely to Halo 5’s benefit, but I remember you being very glad that BTB was ranked.
Nah BTB will still be it’s own thing.
Warzone is just the replacement (atm) for the PvE replayability that was Firefight or Spartan Ops.
They’ll end up with a good balance of both. Warzone has been out since release so they’ve had more time to work on it, but BTB was only released recently. New BTB maps are coming in next week’s update so get excited!

This is just so wrong for Warzone… Even today, we trapped the other team in the middle base on Escape from A.R.C. and absolutely destroyed the enemy. Eventually we took the Garage as well and trapped the, in the East Armory. But, the middle isn’t everything. Stormbreak’s fortress is stupid easy to trap a team in and then own the bosses and win. Middle base is just a middle base. It doesn’t do anything to make or break you if your team is somewhat intelligent and not lemmings…
As far as BTB goes, I just had way less fun with it on H5 compared to earlier games. It might be the maps, might just be that Warzone is still fun for me. Either way, I do not spend time in BTB.
