Honestly if the req points and commendations weren’t a part of it would anyone really play?
I don’t know to me a lot of Halo even from back at CE playing against friends and family on a little tv was the whole thing, it was just rad. But playing the same maps against the computer is just lame (oh wait they came out with a legendary variant). Seriously what is the point, where do any dynamics come in, when is one game that much different than the last?
And I am not starting this topic to troll I am just wondering what the point is to play this game type? And if it’s just because 343 set out somethings to achieve then I sort of get it, but honestly I don’t want to get into it.
Having a cooperative PvE mode (Warzone Firefight) was something a lot of people wanted, and a lot of people still enjoy it even if it’s not like ODST’s and Reach’s. Heck, if they took out the REQs and made it ‘Classic Firefight’ it’d probably bring in just as many people if not more.
Though the needing to be one of the last shots on the boss - like the old Warzone method before they changed it to needing 10% of the damage - kinda takes a bite out of the “cooperative” part and more a race to get the points from it. Which isn’t a concern to me tbh, I don’t care about the points and rather just winning (Especially on Mythic!) but if you dont get the credit or assist, your REQ Level gets held back
Warzone PvP without the REQs would just be “Very Big Team Slayer” like Heavies I guess. Take out the REQs and it’d probably lose a lot of its appeal but you never know. Having an even larger BTB would probably still appeal.
I was born with no legs and I have used my hands my whole life to get around. Throughout the years it has made it very hard for my fingers to move quickly. I played Warzone pretty much only for the PVE aspect of it but after a while I was just not into it because I cant keep up in a actual gunfight dance. When I saw firefight come back I jumped right on it and have been greatly enjoying the last 3 days of it.

Yes, there are players like me who have wanted real big team battle since launch, not that crappy 8v8 they tacked on after release. I would like to see 12v12, 16v16 and 32v32 without reqs. Remove reqs from Warzone and you already have 12v12.
I use WZFF to warm up. I’ll start with a game or two, then go into Arena or regular Warzone. Its also a good playlist to jump into when I feel like playing, but am too sauced up to hang in PvP.
Dude back during release warzone was actually fun surprising right? All because no one had any reqs it was just people using loadout weapons and I actually enjoyed it. I hate it ever since people started getting lost of reqs because now it’s just a sausage feast
It seems you mean WZF. I enjoy it. Haven’t tried candy crush though, not into games like that. If you are pining for the old days dust off the xbox/360 or whatever and have at it. Believe it or not, I have, all in working condition, original Halo xbox, reach 360, but unlike you I have moved on.
I think it would still be popular because people like using OP weapons and vehicles and it is kind of like BTB although I’d consider it a more crappier version of it. Farming would possibly be less as well if there were less REQ points.
No. Warzone is not Candy Crush.
OP, if you clarify the post title as Warzone Firefight per your Candy Crush reference, then a lot of people will catch the comparison. 343i directly addressed the Req-wall to progression in WZF with its latest update splitting the mode into different difficulties.
Separately, regular Warzone’s Req system adds a complex and constantly changing cocktail of impacts on both personal and team tactics as well as game flow and the tides of each match. It is what elevates the mode to the variety that it has compared to other more traditional modes.
eh not a great comparison

Day of release people already had good reqs. Alot more people then you think buy req packs. In all honesty right now in normal Warzone it seems worse but that is likely because alot more hardcore teams have formed and solo que or even 3 stacking is just playing to lose.
I sell back almost all my reqs and I don’t even know what a commendation is. I play warzone because arena is to me the pointless and repetitive grind that warzone is to you. Competition is not the motivator for everyone that it is for some. Are you really surprised that different people like different experiences?

I’m not saying no one had reqs but a lot of people didn’t at that time compared to those who did. Plus back then the population was kinda big.

Population is still big. I dont know if you have ever played a truly dead game.

On maps that big, 32 vs 32 would be INTENSE
It’d be like Assault but bigger.

I have I never said the population was dead lol but considering that it’s a triple A title and a halo title the poluation that previous halos or the population from launch it’s small compared to that.

I think it would be great. I know there’s games like BF for that, but I want that in Halo, I also want MASSIVE battle arena, like ark falls in Defiance, that was insane, you could have 32 spartans intercepting a covey or flood invasion with tech and loot as the rewards. Halo 5 could have been all the games we wanted, but it’s not.
Here’s hoping for Halo 6 to be that game, 343i need to break the mould, generic fps games are not enough anymore, imo. Make a game that embraces all, FPS / Third person option, RPG elements, MOBA elements, splitscreen co op, what a game that would be.
The point is to have fun. If you’re not, then don’t play. Obviously enough people do like it, it’s one of the more popular modes.

Perhaps not to THAT level, the gameplay is still solid as it is…it just needs bigger confrontations and bigger maps.
