Is warzone advanced or something?

Ok so after not playing MP for years I’m diving in with H5 and quite enjoying myself. My KD is pretty bad but I have come top of my team a few times and I’m starting to get to a point where I can have a good battle and not just die all the time.

Until I tried warzone! Does that mode require a lot more skill? I’m awful at it.

It requires competent teammates and a bit of luck in the Req Pack game.

Ahhhh team mates. I don’t have any of those apart from the random peeps I end up with, who either seem to be eating crisps or have their mic’s positioned 2mm from their heavy breathing nostrils.

best thing to do in warzone pug groups is step up as a leader, call out boss spawns and coordinate strikes. if you have to, explain how what you want them to do will benefit the team. biggest way to win though is by points so try and get your team focused on points and just one base that is closest to the majority of boss spawns

It doesn’t, it just requires communication. I’m hardly a good player and yet I always have a great experience on Warzone when there’s communication.

I’m finding that I just don’t really care for Warzone right now. I thought it would be epic, not that it isn’t … I just don’t think it’s my thing. I love arena. Probably the best Halo multiplayer yet … at least since Halo 2. But Warzone is starting to irk me a little.

It can be fun, but I’ve noticed that more often than not, it isn’t. Too bad you can’t get more REQ points in arena because I want some -Yoink!- helmets.

Lol war zone is easy :c

i remember BTB in halo 2… before the party system and private chats… games where amazing then, communication in game was the only way to do it so it forced people to communicate. that lead to new friendships and better gaming experiences in general, those where the golden days of XBL if you ask me…

I only ever have 2-3 people on a mic for randoms groups in Warzone. Most people don’t talk at all or are in a Party.

As far as the Req system goes, I don’t tend to see vehicle battles very often. It is usually one team calling a ton in while one team does nothing. I don’t know if that is people not having vehicles or people not understanding how Reqs work.

Ah party! That explains why every now and again I’ll see half a dozen Spartans start running in a certain direction together. I just sort of join in and run after them aimlessly.

If you can’t get communication going in a game, that’s actually the next best thing to do. Being on your own in Warzone means giving the enemy a kill. Provide support to others or use them to support you. Play the objectives. Use your mic as if every other player on your team can hear you; call out enemy locations, say which bases you’re heading to for a capture/defend. You may be pleasantly surprised to find one or more players coming with you to help out. It’s happened to me a number of times.

I’ll do that then.
It feels a bit awkward talking when you don’t know if anyone is listening but yeah I’ll just dive in. Cant hurt can it.

I solo warzone all the time and come out with brilliant KD’s and usually within the top 5 on a team. The gamemode is pretty easy if you understand how people work, and aren’t afraid to take one for the team. If you start taking the enemy teams armoury, it usually draws a lot of their players back towards you, letting your team take the center. From there, you just got to be good enough to drop as many enemy players as possible and stay alive as long as possible to keep them busy, and maybe even for other teammates to arrive and help take the point.

As for vehicle battles, I rarely call vehicles in personally; I prefer to call weapons in as that’s just my prefered play style. If I really need a vehicle, I can usually just scope an enemy out a ghost or hijack it for my own use. Some people are shockingly bad with vehicle play, makes them easy to take out. Most people panic when they get low on shields too, even when they are in a vehicle.

Basically, it just comes down to disciplining yourself, keeping up good communication, and predicting what your opponents are going to do.

Oh yeah it’s weird as anything when no one replies but then you’ve got to think “what if the they’re all feeling the same, not talking because they don’t think anyone listens?”. Be the guy that gets the ball rolling, get your mic going and have fun! Hope it works out for you mate, Warzone is brilliant when you get into it.

Another thing would be to play to your strengths. If you are a good offensive player, attacking a base or monster with some players is a good place to start. If you are a good defensive player, defending spire, fortress, or garage and contesting bosses until support arrives is a good way to go. Just remember, don’t sacrifice a base to kill a silver boss. Don’t get back capped(losing your starting armory). Don’t blow Req points on small things. Instead, use them to turn the tide or counter something that the other team calls in. I tend to use mine to counter the enemy team(Sniper to counter snipers, explosives to kill a vehicles, a SAW or Shotgun to defend against a huge push).

Its just more players with big maps and hardly no long range weapons. Its a little chaotic at times which makes it seem like it takes more skill but it definitely does not.
