It’s obvious the only reason their doing all these new maps is because halo 4 nose dived because it was such a bad game compared to halo 3 it was basically cod with halo skin, judging by the look of some of these maps it’s not going to make a difference I just can’t see it sustaining a healtby population like halo 3 did
They are doing free DLC because REQ Packs can be bought. They’ll make 10x more off of REQ Packs than they would on DLC. They saw how much money GTA 5 Online made just off of MicroTransactions, trading free DLC. Its a win win situation as long as MicroTransaction don’t alter gameplay in favor.
Paid DLC also splits the population. This keeps it all on the same page.
First off. There is free DLC. Is that any reason to complain?
Secondly, stop with the population of Halo 3. If you had some way to magically launch both games, under the same conditions, then maybe, just maybe, Id entertain this argument. As of right now, its one ive tried to provide a devil’s advocate for. You cannot compare the launch of any Halo game to the launch of Halo 3, as Halo 3 had the best conditions possible to release a Halo game. So please, just stop this.
Furthermore, you may want to consider actually playing a Halo game before making asinine comments.

Micro transactions are the hidden hand in gaming profit and finances.
A few other reasons are that DLC fractures players into haves and have nots, also the people who don’t get the DLC tend to quit playing sooner.

It seems ridiculous in an fps though , I hate the way gaming is going.
They did it to compensate for MCC. Saw it in an interview or something a while back.

And to go off of that, Most of the profits if not all of the REQ packs that are bought go towards ESports. So more money people use for playing bigger prize pools for the competitive players

DLC are effectively microtransactions, just beefier. They’re both playing for extra stuff in the game. The difference is now the community isn’t split by it, and you dont have to pay an additional penny if you don’t want to.

The micro transactions aren’t pay to win they are merely for those who are too inpatient to earn req points like normal. If you have been watching streams you would see this as people are getting req points pretty quickly without even playing warzone which gives you 10,000 points.

I agree, and I don’t approve of either. I’m just saying that season passes aren’t a microtransaction.
So long as I am not forced to buy into microtransactions I am all for the additional free dlc.
