if I wanted some preset armor coatings and can’t change colors I’d just go play destiny. Is this seriously what halo is becoming now? A knockoff version of destiny made by 343? Is this seriously how far this game has gone down hill? Can’t wait for when our own Spartans have their own abilities of 3 main classes! Always had hope in this game and 343. Now? Truly hope 343 will lose halo and be given to an actual good studio that listens to its fans that doesn’t make extremely stupid decisions that immediately turn their fans against them.

Infinite Multiplayer is free to play, how no one saw in game monetisation coming is beyond me.
It’s not that deep of an issue. Most of the time you’re Red or Blue. How often are you actually seeing your Spartan colours. This has been blown so out of proportion

It sounds like you’re trying to justify the in game monetization as a whole as well. The point is that in custom games, firefight, and ffa multi-player mode you can adjust your colors to fit you. It is a simple mechanic that isn’t hard to implement and it is a small freedom that brings joy to just about anyone. Not only that, but the system they replace it with has in-game monetization embedded within it, as the color purple seems to be an exclusive… People can be mad at this and it is justified. Limiting customization is never good and lots of people spend hundreds of hours in custom games alone.

I would love the option to be able to set your own team colours… so that in every game your team is colour A and all the enemies are colour B. It shouldn’t really matter what I choose as it only appears that way on my screen.
It would be the perfect solution for those with vision issues such as colour blindness.
And it would stop people wearing armour to camouflage themselves on the map (green for jungle areas, grey for rocky or urban areas, etc).
Of course this goes against both people’s freedom of choice… and 343’s need to sell us stuff.
Oh well, one can dream.

I expected monetization, I expected skins to be added since there was no way 343 would be pro consumer enough to put a skin editor in akin to CoD or Forza. I did not expect them to take a feature we’ve had since 2001, 04 for both colors. This is nothing but a massive step backwards in essentially every way.
